A few acquaintances I’ve known since launch. I don’t use friends loosely, measure friends by how personal I could get with them not solely because we’re cool.

Heh. My brain automatically translated from Phone Autocorrect...my own phone does that so much that now when I see something that looks odd I just think what word it was probably supposed to be. In this case I'm pretty sure it was "type".

Absolutely tons of “friends” in the sense that I enjoy playing with them, have interesting convos, and laugh a lot.

TY. I did try to interpret what it could have been intended to mean but just couldn't quite grok it. Might also be because the name Tyler is awful, but not as awful as Skylar.

Not in this game, but only because I don't play enough to really get to know anyone. I can completely believe it's possible and I think there's actually been some couples who met through ESO.

I have made real friends in other games. I even lived with one of my guild leaders for a few years.

Finding a real friend in ESO is awesome when it happens. It feels really nice to have someone else you can nerd out with. My best friend is just the best, he checks on me and my husband and we do almost everything together! I'm lucky to have the friends I have.

There are 3 people I'd like to meet IRL. Sadly one quit at Summerset launch, one's on a hiatus (I hope) and the third is in a totally different time zone to me so I rarely see him online anyway.

I've met a few I consider friends but IDK if they consider me one. I try not to get too clingy. It's difficult for girls to make friends in a gaming community, from my experience because a lot of dudes get weird, possessive and jealous quick. The guild I'm in is pretty social and friendly, there are times when I'm engaged in the conversation but sometimes I just want to zone out and ignore everyone. I play late at night to wind down so I meet a lot of night owls and foreign folk as well...

I met my best friend in eso back in 2015! We've played multiple games together ever since we've met each other but needless to say we are still playing eso together all the time. We completed every group content together and now we mostly pvp in Cyrodiil.

100% Started playing on Xbox 3 years ago and met a bloke in Texas, We still play together and even talk near everyday on facebook. Hell, we even drunk call each other when we're out! got some real love for my boy Pyro even tho we are on other sides of the Earth

Yes many good friends we dont live near each other but just bc I met them in game does not take away the fact that I consider them friends and people I trust.

Some even read these forums you know who you are

Didn't exactly meet my girlfriend in the game as we were already online friends before we started playing, but regular voice comms sessions helped make us realise we wanted to be more than just friends and pushed us towards meeting up in RL.

this "if I was not married" is a dangerous thought, and unfair, because you know just the chocolate side of your online friend, whereas your spouse shows you all her sides. That is the beauty of the internet, that you can have long distance friendships like that - over years or decades, even one might never ever meet them in person. If offers a different kind of friendship, some would not call that a friend,, one has to separate and distinguish RL friends from online friends, both are quite different.It is sometimes easier to talk with someone, whom you will never meet than with friends, which you see over and over again in real life. Both have different qualities.

Another advantage of online friends is, they will be still there when you move - from town to town, from country to another country or from continent to another continent. Within the last 6 years I have been living on 3 continents, so those friends, which lasted, are all online friends, because I could take them with me - they are in my phone, my tablet, my pc - real life friends are fading when you move away.

Yes I would say I have made a few people I would label as friends....yes.....maybe.......people I would 99.5% try and put out if they were on fire......so if that friend...then yes!
