So, this weekend, I got invited to a guild. People are very nice and so. Very welcoming. Then after a few hours of playing, the topic shifted towards eso housing. I mentioned that I an saving to buy a bigger home for myself as mine was getting too small. I was told by a guildy that he has a big house (probably the guild master, idk). But there's an entry fee of 50k each time you enter. Of course I laughed...
Turns out he was serious.

I still don't believe he was serious. Almost every decently sized guild has at least a pair of people with giant houses furnished with sets crafting stations, mundus stones, tramute station, dummies, etc and free entry for all, including non guildies. The guild house is one of the perks when recruiting, putting a 50k (or even 500g) fee on it, makes it worthless.

For what it is worth all travellers in EU PC Tamriel are most welcome at my home and many businesses and this one asks only that they please use one of the many bathrooms and do not pollute the swimming pools.

That's what I said. I mean, are they hiding Beyoncé in there?? I don't know. After I made fun of it, they were pretty quiet after lol

I already have a guild thats awesome. I'm only looking for another that has more players on my specific times. But this won't be it.

If so that guild leader will have an empty guild asap

Plenty of guilds in the game have a house with all crafting stations that are free to use, as long as your beneficial to having in the guild like making minimum sales etc. I am in 3 of them

hehe...on a serious note, they may seem nice but yeah if they dude was trying to swindle you out of 50K just by going to a guild house.....then time to get a different guild...

This is why it felt so weird to me and very awkward afterwards when I laughed at it. Im aware that some do have a fee and I'm ok with it. But 50k?? Thats half my savings atm lol

Was it really for each entry or tied to a guildrank? There are tradingguilds with flatout subscription fees nowadays

Are there lists who visited a house?

And what would be the consequence if they existed? One would get his indebted ass kicked out of the guild and be better off.

Even if it is once off. No. Sorry.
Do you know how hard it is for me, a solo player who's struggling to find any locals who play eso to make coin? The 100k I have took me like a week lol

Lol mybe they send an angry mob to break your knees. Or your Mount's knees... Or maybe your combat pet's knees...
If I was that person, I'd go check the permissions on his house and rearrange all the furniture lol. But yea. Not really enthused to.

Anyhooooo thanks for the input guys. I'll just wait for my orig guild when they're able to have a trader, and when we're online together. I will support them. They've helped me a lot.

On the other side, for me it is mildly infurating, how members of a guild are only picking benefits without even considering contributing something to the guild.

Big Guild houses with all the crafting tables are taken for granted and even the people tell you how superior that trading guild is while you drag them trough a dungeon

I actually do have a guild that I support and don't mind doing so. I think this "entrance fee" is baloney

My trading guild has a house with all mundus stones and all crafting stations, and all you have to do to access it is to sell stuff in their store.
Usually guilds accept donations to buy items for guildhouse, but charging someone just for visiting? That's the first time I've heard about something like this.

But it would be funny if that 50k house turned out to be a free tavern room.

I would see if I could port into the house anyway because as far as I know there is no way to tell if anyone has been to your house or not. If you don't have permission then they will want the 50 k to have access then I would go and find a different guild.
