Saw a weird thing on Khenarthi’s Roost when I was running a few node gathering loops over a few different days.
At first I saw a few level 3 toons with prisoner rags hiding in certain spots. As I looped around I noticed that they were camping at iron/pewter nodes and would get up to harvest when the node respawned, then go back to hide.
The more I looked around, especially near the Khenarthi’s Roost Wayshrine area, I realized there seemed to be a team of these players, about 6-8, all camping the same type of node, each at a different node in that area.
I went back at various hours over a few days and noted that they seem to be there for many hours.
I checked their Xbox gamer profiles and their gamer tags, as well as character names, are pretty much random. ESO is the only game they have ever played, gamer scores were all 5, just from a single ESO achievement. They all also are on each other’s friends lists.
Lastly, I was in the Rawl’Kha Outlaws Refuge last night at the fence when another toon walked up matching the same kind characteristics as the campers. He realized he was at the wrong NPC and ran off, I walked over to the moneylender and he was there with about 5 other level 3 toons all apparently using the bank.
It doesn’t seem like a particularly good way to make gold, assuming that’s what they are doing. The nodes seem to respawn about every 2 minutes. It also doesn’t seem like something a normal player would do, even as a crafting or harvesting only toon.
Has anyone else run to people doing this? Anyone have any guesses as to why a team of low level toons would be harvesting in this way?
