You think in the case that ZOS actually sees the numbers go down (as in they get less money) they will just drop the game like a hot potato and move on? Abandon their investment for over four years or maybe look closer what happened and if they can fix it to continue to make money? The whole 'don't give them less money or the game will die!' argumentation is really based on a rather odd perspective how companies actually work.
The game runs fine for me in Cyrodiil and everywhere else. I almost never have lag and I rarely crash
