Stamina Gear and Mundus Meta

I don’t play any of my stamina DPS much, but I’m considering rebuilding them. Obviously Perfected Relequen is the best option, and thinking I’ll pair it with Selene as long as Relequen is proccing the bear. I’ll be using a Maelstrom bow back bar.

My question is about the other set and Mundus. I keep hearing that Advancing Yokeda and Lover are the best choices, but I don’t quite understand why. Wouldn’t Two-Fang and the Thief mundus provide more Penetration (4300 vs 4197) and more crit chance (10.7% vs 9.1%)? Either Two-Fang or Advancing require you to be on back bar less than 4s or you lose the stacks, so no difference there. And if you do lose stacks it seems like Two-Fang’s stacks come back quicker since it procs on any damage. Am I missing something here?

I’m not sure how much class matters for any of this, since all stamina basically plays the same. If it makes a difference I would probably be focusing stamblade before other classes.

Since any weapon now counts as two slots so 5+5+2 is a thing for any build, do we really need to worry about this back bar stuff any more?

We do if we are running a Maelstrom bow back bar.

Class might make a difference ... depending on who you ask, Advancing is not always used on non-NB builds (stamsorc builds often have Automaton although I'm not convinced that's really the best or Veiled Heritance, stamplars often have Ravager, etc.)

Perhaps my tooltips are wrong, but as far as I understand the TFS stacks fall off after 3 seconds and the Advancing Yokeda stacks fall off after 5 seconds.

Admittedly it's been quite a while since I tested backbar TFS on a dummy, but when I did actual penetration was significantly lower than the max calculated from the tooltip. Advancing Yokeda you can keep procced up near its maximum potential.

It is an interesting question from another angle, though. You could potentially skip the monster set and run 5 x Relequen and 5 x TFS with a Maelstrom bow and Master's DW (or even Maelstrom DW on some builds if they're not still totally broken). I would wager that the current meta setup of Relequen + AY/Ravager/Automaton + Selene is better, but it's probably not a huge difference and it'd be even closer if ZOS hadn't removed the stat bonuses from the weapons.

For some reason TFS and AY don't behave the same. AY keeps full stacks until it falls off completely while TFS stacks gradually fall off just as they are built up. Hope that makes sense.

Usually, you don't go wrong with either option of ravager, veiled or advancing yokeda. If you use a weapon damage set, make sure to use thief or lover mundus, if you use the critical set, go with warrior or lover so the sets don't yield diminishing returns in pair with the mundus.

Relequen is only better than others if you can stack it up decently AND if you have the perfect one ready.

The normal one misses that stamina bonus, so you have to build stacks to compensate for it.

That's what many players lease out of their "BiS" determination. Vicious Ophidian is still underrated, especially because it let's you drop throne and use blue food instead and you can sustain just fine. I'll take the 8% over the proc from relequen any day...

@Masel92 Thanks. What are your thoughts on Two-Fang? I would’ve thought it would be more popular after the Night Mother’s and Sunderflame nerfs, but it seems most players are just using the Lover stone instead.

Also is there any way to keep Relequen stacks if you use it front Bar only?

I play Khajiit Stamsorc with Briarheart + Veiled Heritance + Stormfist, Lover Mundus Stone. I still miss the Maelstrom bow, no luck from my drops

I don't want to use Relequen, I have a bad intuition about the future of this set.

For more sustain I was hoping to use drain stamina enchant with Infused after the next update. On this elusive bow.

Advancing Yokeda (Berserking Warrior set) is good as long as it is weapons and jewelry only since the armor is heavy.

I get highest tooltips with Automaton, Vicious Serpent and monster set (stormfist usually, sometimes selene if I dont need sustain)

Crit sets and penetration sets won’t show up on your tooltips, but can still be great for DPS.

TFS + Thief ends up being lower average pen AND crit, but they are close. One thing to keep in mind is that on any fight where you cant melee the boss at certain points, you will lose a lot more with TFS, since Yokeda gives you an extra 2 seconds.

@hedna123b14_ESO Thanks for the video, and testing what I was too lazy to get on PTS and do myself, haha. That definitely clears it up. I guess I’ll start working toward finishing out my Advancing set.

Which is a lot for one item. And of course, I saw you testing which we always appreciate. Maelstrom bow is going to scale better than Masters bow with adds, which is just about every fight in the game.

Is there a single item that adds more DPS than? Maelstrom bow in actually content? Maybe VMA staff on a Heady attack build? All I can really think of.
