Why there is maintenance today?

I thought maintenances are on Mondays at 4:00 AM EDT. Why we have one now?
There's nothing in Dev Tracker, "Patch Notes & Hotfixes" and "Maintenance Announcements" forum categories.

    German CM just confirmed it’s a maintenance in the Frankfurt based Datacenter, that’s why it’s only EU.

    Probably because of the lag, fresh servers for the event that starts tomorrow. I agree with it

    Midyear starts tomorrow, and maintenance is only on PC EU, that's why I'm confused...

    It's PC EU and both EU console servers as well, so my very wild guess would be a maintenance (which has nothing to do with the Midyear Mayhem) at the EU data center in Frankfurt. ;)

    I play in Cyro everyday and I didn't have issues with lag, also if this is server restart for the event then it should be for ALL platforms...

    I haven't had any lag either except for a weird low frame rate the other night, that must be why. I don't know.

    Probably a proper fix to last weeks total EU server crash. Noone on any console could play it or even log in for a few hours

    @ZOS_GinaBruno Did someone steal all the sk00ma and the server maintenance is there to replace those, or is it some even darker things going on?

    No it didn't, it started at the advertised time:
    European megaservers for maintenance – July 25, 2:00AM EDT (6:00 UTC)
    I was in-game up until one minute before the server went down for maintenance at 07:00 BST (British Summer Time) which is UTC+1, maybe you forgot to adjust for your own time zone. *shrug*

    PTS patch on monday already copied EU characters.

    Probably about the physical servers in the data center in Germany - Hamsters getting an electric shocker necklace to "motivate" them more or something.

    I think it is a reference to "normal" maintenance that starts at 8.00 UTC - so this maintenance is 2 hours earlier than other scheduled.

    This is most likely an Akamai related thing rather than anything to do with ZOS. Its most likely the entire frankfurt datacentre is undergoing some kind of maintenance.

    EU server was having a weird behaviour this last weeks, some instances of trials had a normal ping, others were having a horrible ping and needed to be reset until you find a "good instance", let's hope it will fix this issue.

    Had the same in dungeons as well, ulti's not firing when used (especially last night, my destro ult failed 4 times in spindle1), hits not registering on mobs as if they were behind invisible walls, delayed firing of abilities, potions not activating when used, bar swapping delayed etc.. i could go on but you get the general idea, its been a bit of a hinderance and unpleasant.
