Remove bind on pickup for some crown items

This is just a suggestion but since crown store items can now be gifted or sold for in game gold, why not remove the bind on pickup from some items such as motifs. I think people some people have more time than money and others have more money than time so it would be helping each other out. In the current state you have people trading person to person for crown cost to gold cost and it's seems very easy to get ripped off right now. If you could get the item and use the trade system in place now it would make it alot safer to trade crown items. Just my opinion. What does everyone else think?

No, not something I would want. For good reasons of my own as well.

If the item can be gifted, from a player point of view, it might as well be unbound when you acquire it. It's just safer that way. There may be some legal reason why it works the way it does though. There are limitations to the gift system that simply unbinding doesn't cover. Gifting is a one time thing. Once you gift, the person either takes the item or returns it. If they take it, it's bound to that player. There is no bartering once the item is picked up. I can't buy low off one person then flip it and make a profit later. Is ZOS actively trying to avoid this type of thing? I'm not sure, but the gift system is set up as it is on purpose. There must be some reason for it.

No. This is why we can gift Crown items.

If they made motifs bought in the crown store tradable, it would reduce or eliminate the chance to be scammed by the gold for crowns system.

It would also completely destroy your profit margins. As soon as that’s tradable in guild stores, it’s tracked in MM and TTC. Meaning people would undercut people.

And before you say “people won’t undercut as it would lower their profits” they would. For 2 reasons,

    1) they clearly need gold so if it’s 100g lower they won’t care but in the long run 100 people selling it each going 100g lower destorys your profit margins

    2) people will just credit card fraud and destroy the price. As soon as there’s a way to make a quick turn around like joining a crag guild and filling up all your slots with -50% off gold on crown items, the number of people doing it will rocket. And trust me it would happen. They would just buy stolen credit card info -> empty account on crown items -> quick sell the items listing in guild stores way under priced -> sell the millions of guild they make in sells for real money tho gold selling sites.

Currently people bott matts to sell gold and it’s profitable (or they wouldn’t do it) this would be gold farming on steroids.

This would not change any of that or do what you are claiming

People undercut now all the time.

As you said, people sell gold now using the very methods you describe. People will still do that. This may actually disincentivize gold buyers by allowing a safe crown store to gold transaction.

Some people already farm gold like crazy. I farmed gold like mad when housing came out. I've spent over 26 million gold on houses and I am an amateur compared to other gold famers.

People can sell motifs now with the current method of selling crowns for gold/gifting crown store items. This would change nothing except allow for less chance to get scammed if people want to do that.

Honestly, I don't have a dog in this fight.
I won't do the current gold for crowns method because it is way too easy to get scammed.

I have 11M gold, with very few things I want to buy at this point. I think it's kinda dumb to use real money to gain video game money but that's my opinion, others may feel differently and they should have the option as long as ZoS allows it.

People already cut the in game market out and buy motifs from the crown store rather than grind for gold and pay the crazy prices some of the pages are going for. That reduces the demand, the market and people's profit.

I sometimes buy motifs that are locked behind rediculous grind or difficult content because I just dont want to be bothered trying to farm for it. No one makes gold from me when that happens.
