Video Editing

Just spent an hour editing a few clips to make a fun montage and realized that there's a huge watermark across the entire video unless I cough up $40. Can anyone recommend a decent video editor that is free or doesn't cost much? All I need is a snip tool and the one built into windows is just giving me black screens.

hitfilm, openshot, or davinchi resolve(little harder to use tho)

Since I refuse to upgrade to Win10, I still have access to Windows Movie Maker. It has some basic video editing functions but works for me.

Maybe try Wondershare? It's pretty cool and easy. Works more or less like WMM.

You’re getting a black screen because the built in windows editor doesn’t support many file types. You can convert the files you have using a free converter online and use it. I used to do that back in the day. What are you using to capture the video?

Apologies I haven't logged in quite a while to respond. I used xbox dvr to record since it is free and easy to use. I made a montage with wondershare filmora before realizing that it costs $40 to export the video without a huge banner blocking my whole video but I was wondering if I could take the project .wve file and convert it to a usable file type to avoid the price tag or having to start over.
