Add Node Farming Area with Up to 20x the nodes in un-used parts of Cyrodiil

Bottom line is we want a larger population playing across the campaigns and we want the opportunity to create small scale fights. We know ZOS probably does not want to implement a full patch for pvp. We want to add more dynamics to Cyrodiil besides zerging. How do we do it? Incentives that bring all players in. The incentive would be in severely less traveled and secluded parts of the map you can claim a "Node Mining Encampment" and set what you want to farm in the area and the longer you hold it the more Nodes populate for your faction up to 20x the amount that populates normally, but the Nodes are spread over a vast area so it is hard to defend the farming, but lucrative.
Additional idea: These nodes that get farmed could be different than traditional nodes, in the sense that you do not get the materials farmed from the nodes until you return to the "Node Mining Encampment." And until you return to the Encampment to "unlock" your materials, what you farmed could be lost to a player that kills you, much like telvar.

Thoughts? I think this could be a low threat implementation that would yield benefit to all types of players and help to bring life to slower campaigns and vary the types of fighting.

    It's not a bad idea for a populated campaign like Vivec, but tbh what will probably happen is it's gonna get camped by whichever faction has rolled the map in unhealty campaigns.

    Best way to get more people in PVP is for ZOS to fix the performance issues.

    Completely DROP the "stealable" portion. You are just asking for another Imperial City. Right now THE BEST source of mats IS from Tel Var. We don't need another Gank City.

    Now strong resource nodes that you could just collect which forces players out of the beaten path and ups the small scale would be interesting. But you will get mostly average players who wont come back after the first time they are killed.

    Smells like buff campaigns, and those are gone for a reason. It would just encourage faction zerging smaller campaigns even more than they are now.

    @Maura_Neysa wanted a small discussion to refine the poll. The idea would for it tk be a vast area so that a zerg would be really spread out. What use is it for 20 people running together to grab 1 node? Yeah it would encourage ganking. But as a small scaler I’d find enjoyment in farming nodes while getting fights. And yeah dropping the stealable part would make it more rewarding. If a small scale abuses too hard a bigger Zerg would come in and then it’s a contested area and changes map dynamic.

    This would only create a scenario that it creates in other mmos with overland pvp; people will just camp the area. Imperial city is a good example of that.

    Zos doesn’t want everyone stacked up , they’d never add another area that promotes camping with a zerg. It would make more sense if they added more nodes spread out in cyrodiil with multiple routes.

    Pvp or zergs), lots of load screens, no PvP. Why are so many of you opposed to any idea for PvP even a low impact one that would have no negative impact on you. And only has benefits for all.

    @CatchMeTrolling my thought was literally entire areas between border keeps. So potentially 4 areas with 4 encampments for the giant expanse. A picture would probably be better to illustrate.

    I just find it to be a shame all those houses, structures, and other terrain is completely unused and ignored and could make for more dynamic fun fights. And I figured the only way to get population there without doing much would be to provide a nice incentive.

    Adding resource areas to Cyrodiil has been suggested for a long time. ZOS ignored the suggestion and instead screwed around with the mechanics of the towns. Not surprisingly, given that its PvP and ZOS, the only time the towns became contested sites of actual PvP was during the event with the motifs in daily reward boxes.

    Neither is ganking someone off a horse. The point is that you take a risk to pick flowers in these areas. And groups will contest them to create safe spots.

    The last thing I want to do when I go to Cyrodiil is pick flowers/farm mats. I want to take keeps and kill other players (farm AP)

    We dont need ques getting clogged up by mat farmers and they will clog them up for an area rich with nodes. There are plenty of places outside Cyrodiil to do that. Not to mention the QQ we will get from farmers who cry "I just want to farm mats, stop killing me"

    This would be a great way to incentivize me to leave my toons in storage AFK in empty campaigns near farm areas...

    Then you could add "kill all the harmless flowerpickers" to the routine of logging in for hirelings!

    A more direct objection: how does bringing people into Cyrodiil for purposes other than PvP help the PvP population (besides inflating the pop bars, decreasing performance, and potentially limiting access for people looking to actually PvP)?

    When I'm gathering mats, I don't want to fight. When I'm looking to fight, I don't want to pick on people gathering plants.
