Quick and easy build for Midyear Mayhem - Magplar

Hey guys, I don't really PvP but I'd like to get the new achievements this year and participate in some PvP so what is a really easy build in terms of gear and skills for a Magplar to set up without too much hassle?

I'm not looking for anything great, just something that will be somewhat viable and easy to acquire before the event starts on the 26th.

Thanks for any help!

I'll update the post I made last year for Midyear Mayhem shortly.

In the meantime, Kagranac's Hope + Wizard's Riposte + Valkyn Skoria is quick and easy magplar build.

Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

    can you craft?

do you have access to monster sets...

julianos and transmutation are two easy to come by gear sets...

earthgore and troll king will help keep yourself and others alive...

destro and resto bars should work...

although 7 light or at least 5 light would be preferred - I'd look at going 5 heavy/2 light if you're unfamiliar with pvp...

    skill wise:
destro - total dark, breath of life, vampire's bane, restoring focus, radiant oppression, and destro ult...

resto - power of the light, healing springs, combat prayer, restoring focus, javelin, and either the resto or templar healing ult...

Skills depends on what style you are comfortable with. Melee, ranged or a mixture of both?

As far as gear anything with wizards is a good starting point. So sets like trans, seducer, kags, shackle etc. are options for the second set. Don’t really need a damage set on magplar.

New pvpers are usually better off in heavy but light is much better. Wizards riposte will give you decent mitigation.

But like others have already said you should read Joys thread for a more descriptive and informative viewpoint.

Easiest thing to do is to combo 1 crafted set with 1 BoE set that you can get off a guild store. And then combine that with a monster set.

    Good BoE sets
    Wizards Riposte
    War Maiden
    Spinners

    Good Crafted Sets
Sloads Semblance (highly overtuned, some people consider using Sloads to be unsportsmanlike)
    Shacklebreaker
    Innate Axiom

    Good Monster Helms
    Shadowrend
    Valkyn Skoria
Earthgore (also has a negative reputation, but very good for beginners in pvp)

7 prices of impenetrable gear is ideal, but as many as you can manage is just fine.

If you're going 5 - 7 light armor pieces, you might want to consider light Fortified Brass set with all pieces having the impenetrable trait. It gives a lot of damage protection and extra health.
My magtempler for PvP is using Fort Brass, Stendar and the Earth Gore monster set <(this is a set you not have quick or easy access to unless you've been planning for awhile, but other monster sets will work ok.)
My magtempler's job is to heal and support my party, and do damage once in awhile. Many magtemplers can do lots of damage. It depends on what kind of role you see yourself playing really.

I am currently running Kags, Twice Born Star (Lover and Apprentice), and Malubeth. Really good healing and damage. And everything is very easy to get/make. If you cannot make Kags jewelry or don't know someone who can, try seducer.

And I run Destro/Restro/light armor. No need for sword and shield or heavy armor. Just use harness magicka or the healing shield. You have enough passive healing on a magplar.

I like to play ranged on my Magplar and I have had success with - (Keep in mind that I am only CP 300 and I only have access to 2 complete monster sets atm).
Shacklebreaker / Wizards Ripost / Domihaus
Sloads / Wizards Ripost / Domihaus
Sloads / Knight Slayer / Domihaus - (I have just started playing this one and with an Oblivion enchant on my lightning staff it seems to work just fine especially against nightblades... yes it is kinda cheezy).

I want to try out Shacklebreaker/Way of Martial Knowledge/ Domihaus, plus I want to farm a set of Overwhelming Surge and pair it up with something I already have.. maybe Wizards and try to got melee :).

I am by no means a great player and the sets I am using fit my play style as I am not aggressive and I rather enjoy using heavy lightening staff to keep nightblades from stealthing away.

Honestly, I'd go heavy if you're not used to PvP. 5 heavy with 2 light.

Kagernacs or shackle breaker are a good crafted set. Then transmutation, wizards, spinners, war maiden, alteration mastery are all good sets you can buy for cheap.

Then a monster set of choice. Either a 2 piece or just separate head and shoulder of magica, health, magica Regen or spell damage if you don't have a full 2 piece.

I'm running kagernacs and shackle breaker on mine with valkyn skoria. You need to be able to or know someone who can craft 8 trait armor and 6 trait jewellery though.

Someone can't get cheap blue/green jewels?

Or pick a Regen set with pirate Skelton for your defense.

Get sets on impenetrable that you have access to.

Find the biggest indication of a PVEer in Cyrodiil without knowledge of it is they are squishy because of no impen. You don’t have to go full impen on every piece but for a new player I’d recommend it.

And get your health above 20k outside of Cyrodiil so it will at least be 25k in Cyrodiil. May want to go more if you’re not seasoned at PvP. Reason being, burst is the king over DPS. You need to survive a burst combo to stand a chance.

Hmm...maybe right, you'd have to buy Wiz Riposte stuff. I don't lnow how much it's going for, but it's a really strong back-bar set and to be honest, blue jewelry, which is going to be very cheap, is like 95% as effective as Purple.

OP is going to need jewelry + Sword and Board no matter what and that's going to be potentially expensive or require a lot of farming. I'd just buy Blue Wiz riposte

Heavy seducer plus what ever damage set is generally pretty easy to get and works fairly well. You'll end up spamming bol in your house as you slowly die no matter what any ways.
