Havent played since morrowind release my stam sorc was closest to maelstrom complete using 2x Kraaghs 5 V/O 5 NM DW/Bow is this build still viable and should i switch to 2h now that they count as 2 set pieces

Very viable, stam sorc is amazing for VMA. You can switch to 2H but you don't need to by any means.

DW is still the way to go. NMG is bis in solo situations on Sorcs or Templars.

Only change I would make to your gear is to run Veli over Krags. Otherwise, you are essentially in BIS solo gear IMO. NM now gives major fracture, which is actually a buff to the set if you are solo and dont have a source of major fracture (which you dont on a sorc). Krags will ceratinly work, but I prefer a little more AOE damage in the arena.

Cant really think of a good reason to go with 2H to be honest. You shouldnt need rally.

The meta has moved to Nirn/Infused. An infused glyph with a weapon damage enchant in your off hand gives a very high uptime on the buff. You might do a bit better with a sharp thrown in there if solo, but if you are going to change, I would build for trials. The diff in VMA will be negligible.

Well I could be wrong I haven't tested in awhile, but I believe that most monsters in VMA still are not at pen cap. Last time I checked the majority of adds and bosses were between 9k-12k resistances which means there is likely no need for sharpened.

I'd personally swap out kraghs for slimecraw or veli. Other than that it's the setup I use. Slimecraw is what I prefer because the damage never misses but the burst from veli is very nice as well.

    7 medium?

I prefer at least one heavy piece, preferably on your chest. Again, you are probably splitting hairs between 7, 5/1/1 and 5/2. When i decided to go for no death on my stam sorc, I went from 7 medium (all stam) to 5/2 with heavy chest and legs with one healthy glyph on my chest. It took one try after the change. It's defiitely doable as a pure glass cannon, but I would recomended getting to about 18k health for a first time or early attempts at Flawless.

It's been a while, but this is what I have used in the past on stam sorc. You have a few optional spots:

DW: Shrouded Daggers/Blood Thirst, Rending Slashes/Blood craze, Bound Armaments, Hurricane, Vigor, Flawless Dawnbreaker (dawnbreaker of smiting is actually better on some fights)

Bow Bar: Crit Surge, Caltrops, Hail, Rearming Trap, Poison Injection, Negate

Pure damage I would go with daggers and rending, but blood thirst and blood craze are more healing, which is nice the first few times. You dont really need the range from daggers as VO gives you great movement speed, but the splash damage is great. I prefer to front bar vigor, but you could drop something from your back bar and run Deadly Cloak for more mitigation, I just dont think you need it. Some of the really good Stam sorcs going for score dont even run vigor. Negate is surprisingly handy on a few fights, but you could also run the bow ulti hear for more ST DPS on bosses. Bound armaments no longer needs to be on both bars, which is nice.

Some people will mess with an Overload bar for in between rounds to add buffs, but I think its more trouble than its worth. If you need Dark Deal, you arent heavy attacking enought. With all your buffs/DOTs ticking, a heavy attack into rending slashes will kill most things in there.

I settled on VO, spriggans and stormfist for vma. I do have and use vma bow back bar and spriggans for dw.

Best tip I can offer is use shrouded daggers instead of steel tornado. Awesome cleave in just about every round.

I run dawnbringer and negate for ults. Rarely use negate buts it is nice to have as an oh crap button.

Stamsorc is like VMA cruise control, DW/Bow or 2 Hander /Bow; ignore the 2h'er haters.

Skill from dual-wield line, some use it as spammable in rotation, too; a thrown dagger that bounces to three nearest targets. Decent damage and Major Brutality for 20 seconds as a bonus. Oh, and it slows enemies down, which is awesome when couple of two-handers are chasing you around the arena.

Granted, it's situational - in regular PvE, you don't see it used every single day, but Maelstrom forces you to discover skills you previously thought to be useless. :)
