What are Asylum, Masters, Maelstrom DW Good For?

I’ve been trying to make these things work. They just seem bad to me. Is this the general consensus?
The Masters DW are most promising at least, but the other two are just not good.
None of them gives me any more damage than say, Hundings and a trial set. It’s highly possible I’m just doing something wrong.

✭✭✭✭All the ablity altering weapons need love, outside vma staff and bow of course, even the master resto, which I love, needs help outside a back bar olo build. The max stat/damage ought to be put back.3 -
Now that I can run a 5 5 2 setup with a staff, I don't use maelstrom weapons. Maybe if they were more powerful I would, but I find that it's more effective to have a second 5-piece set bonus.4 -

Back bar maelstrom staff for pve is still super strong and probalby BIS.
Staves counting as 2 prices just shortened the gap.0 -

Maelstrom daggers were the undisputed bis for stamina pre morrowind, but do to the ability altering affect being buggy with poison injection it's not even a runner up. Asylum daggers might have use in large trash situations but that's about it and mast daggers are good in pvp.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭A few still have their uses.
VMA Bow and VMA inferno staff are still BIS for back bar PVE weapons. They really do add quite a bit of damage.
Master's DW weapons are very strong if going for a PVP bleed build.
Asylum (perfected) inferno is super OP in VMA. Can also be useful for Sorc non Pet builds.
VMA Resto is not bad for a bit of regen in PVP.
Master's Resto can theoretically help a group with stamina. You dont see it used much anymore though.
Asylum 2 Hander can be useful for an ulti gen build in PVP.
Master's Bow is not a bad back bar weapon in PVP, if you run PI.
They still have uses, but the changes with summerset really closed the gaps. Only ones that are really "requirements" are the VMA/Bow Inferno staff if you are trying to push trial score.

✭✭The question is for DW though. That’s the ones I’m having a big problem with. They just aren’t very good.
My thaught is since backbar is already something different, why not use them for front bar as well and use agility or some other 3 piece like vengeance leech or deadly. But their not very good in my experiences.0
