Spell Crit vs. Melee Crit

Looking at the spell crit on my magDK I see 22% using a Julianos and Silks of the Sun. I understand this seems to be a pretty common combo in PvE. My StamSorc registers at 78% physical crit. Both builds and gearset are pretty close to the builds on the usual suspects sites Alcast, Dottz, Tamrielfoundry, etc.
Why is there such a difference? What makes the builds still comparable? Are there different synergies that makes non-crit spell damage catch up with the almost constant crit physical damage?

Something must be off with your DK's build, your crit chance should be arround 50% (10% base crit + 10% from light armor passive + 10% from Major Prophesy + 12% from CP + ~7% from Juli). Stambuilds can get slightly higher crit chance from armor and weapon passives, but it's not that much.

You should be able to get nearly 50% Spell crit on that build.

    10% Base
    7.6% Julianos
10% Major Prophecy (Flames of Oblivion, Inner Light, or Potions)
12% from Champion Points (Spell Precision)
10% from Light Armor (Prodigy passive)

Doh! You are correct. My spell crit is indeed 49.3% in PvE gear. The 22% comes from my PvP gear (heavy Shacklebreaker and Silks of the Sun in jewelry and weapons). Guess I need to up that a bit.
