Limited Time Sales for Housing

Zeni, what is the logic behind limited time sales on houses? I understand the appeal of making costumes and gear seem more rare, and thus, more profitable when they are made available for purchase. However, I don't understand why housing is limited to occasional sales. I'm not big of buying tons of crowns for in-game purchases, but I've wanted to purchase the Linchal Grand Manor ever since I stumed upon it (, unfortunately after it was available).

What is the logic? I want to purchase this and yet I'm told by Zenimax that my money is no good here. Please help me understand!

Damn, I want this house but don't have enough crowns. I better buy some even though they are not on sale so I can buy this home before it goes away.

But they totally forgot about new(er) players.

I mean, I get that mindset, but it falls apart when compared to the other notable homes. They have some much larger & better located houses for sale all the time. Not to mention, the few times I've seen houses pop back on to the market for short time sale they didnt even change the price!

No limited-time home has ever yet returned to the Crown Store. Not that I think they shouldn't. I think that coming around again once a year would be helpful in including new players. Yes, I suppose it would mean that some would just wait until the following year to buy it if they didn't have the crowns, but I would think that selling a certain amount every year would generate more revenue for them in the long run, but perhaps not.

The logic is money. Put a highly desirable item into a time window, more people are likely to impulse buy it. And usually at a more ridiculous cost, and that means profit for ZOS.

Housing is a perfect example. It's an aspect of The Elder Scrolls franchise that A LOT of people love. People also love the idea of owning expensive, huge houses they would have no hope of ever owning in real life.

Take that, along with a home that a lot of people want in game, add a ridiculous price, slap a time window on that, and voila, money, money, money for ZOS.

It's quite a clever, if not insidious business tactic.
