The Alliance aspect was the ESO selling point at release. However, now it has little to no consequence which Alliance you choose.
A great way to rectify this would be to limit "Alliance" to PVP/Cyrodiil Campaigns only. For example...
Choosing your race would indicate which "zone" your main quest line is composed for; in the PVE aspect Alliance has no significance.
In a PVP aspect, when you begin a new Campaign you choose the Alliance you wish to fight for for the duration of that Campaign and is account locked for that Campaign.
For example, if you begin a Campaign in Vivec and you choose AD then all your characters become part of the AD Alliance (In Vivec only) until the campaign ends - at which point you may choose to change Alliance next campaign.
Campaign Alliance choice can vary between campaigns - I.E. Vivec is EP for 30 days and Shor is AD for 7 days.
This would benefit many players who have multiple alliances and do not wish to re-roll characters to level 1, Cross-Faction Guilds and incentive to make PVP campaigns more competitive.
You can even implement a "Traitor" function in campaigns where if you are caught spying or helping another alliance your Alliance changes mid-campaign and you are marked a Traitor in your title!1 -

Lifemocker✭✭✭I started out on AD because I wanted to experience that story line first when the game came out and it felt wrong at that time to do an Altmer on other factions.
I play PvP with both AD and EP and the biggest flaw on both of them is that they seem to fight among themselves more than against each other. Don't know if this happens in DC because I have never played as one.0 -
MerlinPendragon✭✭✭✭Daggerfall CovenantDC is competitive with EP and gives them a solid run most nights. I think you will find DC a bit more down to earth, very competitive and overall the better all around alliance.
I played some EP myself, but I found most of the larger EP PVP guilds to be far more immature and zergish.
AD has great storyline, but their PVP situation is just a mess. Hardly ever any organized raids. They're always the bottom of the three.

Actually_Goku✭✭✭✭Aldmeri DominionSo RN I’m leaning towards the AD.
I’m doing this on the pretext that I don’t know the AD in the 4th era is a bunch of nazis. Although I relate to the EP’s goal of autonomy, their alliance is the shakiest, their zones the dreariest, their leader the least worthy (I do love Peter Stormare though) and I feel as though their base, across all platforms and servers seems the least mature. Not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing, but a quick look in zone chat tells me what I need to know.
So RN I’m 60% AD 40% DC, I love Emeric, the alliance is semi-believable, and they seem the “centrist” alliance from a perspective of that they want to take over Tamriel, but from a perspective of saving everyone.1
