Maintenance for the week of May 25:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – May 25
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – May 27, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EDT (20:00 UTC)

I’m discouraged by what I’m reading in the forums

Why would anyone waste 200 a month on micro transactions

Presumably because they don't consider it a waste, much as you might spend money on things they would consider a waste but you don't.

We all have our own way of enjoying and contributing to a game, which is all that matters.

The game has improved drastically. But yes theres still issues to find all over the place, and lag never improves. In fact its so terrible lately I just log on to do my craft writs, hunt some master writs/surveys and log off because theres nothing else I can do that wont have me rubberbanding with buttons failing all the time.

The issue is that the forums are a dump and Zos doesnt care all too much. You see legitimate issues and questions go ignored (not to say they all go ignored) while garbage threads go rampant. Its hard to communicate with Zos as they are vague.

Yes but it’s contributing to lack of improvements. Do we really want this game to the microprocessor nightmare called Destiny?

    Micro transaction, not microprocessor

Keeping up appearances. Getting more YouTube subscribers. Collector mentality. And so on. Why buy just a few houses/pets/mounts when you can collect them all and proudly show them off to your guildies, random passers-by, and social media subscribers?

It’s really no different than people who need to have expensive cars, or people who need to have massive houses. What IS different, though, is that their decision to consume and consume and consume indiscriminately negatively affects other customers who are invested in the same product. Someone who decides to purchase a Ferrari isn’t going to make my Corolla any less effective. People who blow thousands on Crown crate mounts, though? I can guarantee you they’re one of the primary reasons why Cyrodiil is STILL freezing up for console players a month and a half after Summerset’s release. There’s no incentive to fix these problems quickly because people are gambling away thousands on crap like this:

just realize you’re ruining things for those of us who realize it’s unwise to spend half your pay check on a mount in a video game.

To be fair, with the whales I've met (in ESO and other MMOs), a couple grand is not, "half their paycheck."

I frankly don’t care HOW much they earn; it’s incredibly stupid and wasteful to spend that amount of money on shot at a digital mount in a game that will only be around for as long as the servers are running.

You can feel like its wasteful all you want but honestly if ZOS wasnt so greedy, theyd simply expand their content team.[/quote]

They have expanded their content team. In fact, they recently added an entire, new floor to the studio, to expand operations. So, maybe they aren't, "greedy." Just, a thought.

What lack of improvements? By common consent the game has improved substantially since the first year.
