Coolest Idea Ever #8 = Guild Rewards for PVP?

Before taking in this awesomeness = my cool idea number 7 came true (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/420000/cool-idea-7-sigil-of) ...i know, i know...you may not like or agree with it, but i got that elder scroll's sight! :-)
IDEA = MAJOR big time rewards for the GUILD for a campaign...
How would it work? = Maybe you all can help...
It could look a little like this...you could add an extra guild kiosk in each capital city; Mourn, Wayrest, Grahtwood. The top ???scoring??? guild would get that kiosk for free. There could be other prizes for the top 10 guilds or so...but I wanna keep this simple for now. WHAT COULD BE 2ND--10TH PRIZE?
Scoring = when a guild claims a castle, they could receive points per tick, and the longer they keep the castle the more points they score...something like, 1 point for 1 tick, 4 points for 2 ticks, 9 points for 3 ticks, etc.
example, if you held a castle x you would get y points;
  • 1 tick = 1 point
  • 2 ticks = 4 points
  • 4 ticks = 16 points
Resources could be worth ¼ of a keep, so 1 tick for .25 points, 2 ticks for 1 points, etc.
WELL, that’s just the initial inspiration and it would seem pretty easy to implement because you just have to make a leaderboard for the guilds, add kiosks and boom!
Other benefits = pvp guilds would become more important, more guild pride, defense of keeps would be emphasized, its like a win, win, win, win.

This is elitism. Only people in a guild can gain these prizes, but unguilded people fighting alongside them in the same battles making the same or maybe even a greater contribution to the defence of Keeps get nothing.

to my mate @DenMoria i apologize.

@RaddlemanNumber7 i mentioned 10 placing per alliance! elitism? anything that gives a prize out for succeeding is elitism? vma? the already top x% that get gold jewelry in pvp? vet trial skins/other trinkets?

if anything this gives an entire guild a reward for working...

i really didn't even imagine this much blow back.

    sorry community...amazing.

We already have a thing happening where a group from one guild takes a keep and some random lone person parks his butt by the NPC so he/she can claim the keep for their guild. Now consider how much worse this would be if claiming the keep actually mattered in some way.

Only way this idea works is if the game can actually track guild members numbers in each fight and even if that were feasible it would promote larger and larger zergs as guilds try to claim keeps.

edited to include this: As it is now a guild can only claim one keep. When my PvP guild takes a keep and we already claimed another we let a player who has a personal guild claim the keep because we find the guilds name funny. You want to promote PvP guilds but a player from a trading guild could tag along with a group hoping to tag all the keeps so the trading guild gets two traders that week.

The thing is, 90% of the guilds that claim keeps are dead guilds and just want the names to show up, I always see the same names in Vivec ( EU ) and even at that they never have anything in the guild store

So they would need to implement a requirement for a guild to gain rewards, like 100 members and at least 50k in sales

    i hear you and agree!

wouldn't the prize be so good that it would shift behavior?

like in the next patch how 3 of the keeps will give x% ap bonus?

i really didn't even imagine this much blow back.

If you get bent out of shape over a little bit of disagreement, maybe don't start threads with baiting poll options?

The big issue here is Cyrodiil's population cap would prevent a lot of guilds from even attempting the reward. And if guilds started incentivizing people to queue for Cyrodiil and then just squat that position, you'd prevent other people from joining PVP. A reward for a few isn't worth screwing over everyone to get there.

Maybe, but if someone was trying to crown an emperor others would defend the keep for them. That leads me to this thought. The guild that gets the trader would be the lucky one that happens to claim the keeps during an Emperor run. Also have to toss in this idea could lead to guilds refusing to defend keeps they do not own. Already we have a problem with groups refusing to help take a keep because the do not like the AP leader in their alliance. This idea would add another reason to either not defend a keep or refuse to take a keep.

And another likely abuse. Guilds have players log in so they have people on in all three alliances then work together to control keeps. They defend or refuse to attack keeps they control and they attack and refuse to defend keeps they do not yet own. It would happen.

This is a really good idea since it's hard for PVP only guilds to get a regular trader, and would definitely increase pvp guild participation! I like it! @generalmyrick

Guild system generally need some love. At this point being in a guild gives absolutely nothing.

I am in a fairly big guild and yet I end up with pugs to do dungeons and stuff, cause all other guild members are doing their stuff.

We need some guild based buffs in dungeons - like increased damage/xp/other-stuff buff also increased chance for a good reward.
So people actually care about being in a guild - there are tons of guild with 10 members.
Of course it brings danger that people won't be looking for randoms anymore, so it has to be well balanced ( ZoS is an expert with this, lol)

Also we could use some general buffs for being in guild, maybe like research time reduced... They could give a slight buff to everything based on a guild rank.

While I think it would be a nice idea to reward guilds in a way I fear this would lead to guilds stacking up and zerging as 2-3 or more. Guilds on PC EU Sotha EP are already doing this without having any incentive towards guild rewards.

..we need a solution for that.

Another option would be that your Guild gets Points in a ranking depending on the gained Ap form all their Members who are wearing the banner of the Guild. On this way every Member would have the Option to help his Guild and it would not depend on someone who is Camping the Merchant to Claim the Keep. And for the programmers, it would be not to much work.

But i don't think that a Merchant would motivate many PvP-Players. Longer Foodtimer, mats for sieges(coldfire-Balistas and so on) or perhaps mountspeed and other minor buffs would be nice. But when you Focus it on the Guildmates you have to select only the ones who have earned atlest 25k ap or something like this. So you can Prevent that 500 People in a trading-Guild get loads of Things only because of a Group of perhaps 10 active PvP-Player
