How was it? whats your opinion on the gameplay , with a controler etc?

I have aN NA account with 500 cp and a bunch of gear, store items etc..and i moved to Europe...

I do own a ps4 and hoenstly im fed up with the lag and fps lag on PC ( given that im attempting to play on NA from europe)

Kinda sucks having to farm eevrything all over again...but i wanted some opinions on this

You can try controler on pc. Dont forget, there are no addons on console, which is a huge minus.

I went from PC to console if ur issue is lag it's going to be worst.

Only thing I like about playing on console is fair game play and everyone is dealing with the same crap. Also xb seems more populated compared to PC on NA not sure about ps4.

There are learning curves you're going to have to adapt to moving over to console.

The lag isn't any better. If anything, it's actually worse because you'll have to go through the Playstation network (XBox Live for those reading this and going with the other console), which means if it goes down, but ESO is up, you can't play.

The controller doesn't work anything like keyboard/mouse controls, even though the PC player base was screwed over with actual KBM controls. For example, you will not be a able to weapon swap while you're moving unless you own controllers with mappable paddles. The out-of-the-box controller will not allow this.

There's also the latency compensation you'll have to deal with since wireless controllers aren't "instant". Most notably is lock picking, where you have to "release the tumbler" then hit it again because the latency is too long for the rumble/sound and the action to release. Practicing the latency and remembering where all 3 stops are can help improve picking locks.

The UI is HORRENDOUS on console. If you're used to add-ons in the PC version, disable them and remember what it's like to deal with the UI. There are *NO* options on the console to improve this garbage, now 4 years strong without a single improvement other than an icon for researching traits. Pathetic.

Chatting sucks. I mean, it truly sucks. The interface window is horrendous. I don't know what it looks like on the PS, but if it's anything like the Xbox, then it's the console app being used, not anything in game. On PC, the chat window is an overlay built into the game. This doesn't exist in the console world.

So, if you group, expect to read thousands upon thousands of lines of text chat because headsets aren't used in this game. Within 10 minutes, you'll hate the chat UI.

I was in beta, then transitioned to PS4 a few months arter release.

GUI is crap, no doubt. Mages guild and skyshards are a bit more of a hassle.

But the gameplay is fine. And trust me, when you beat VMA on PS4 you’ve done it sans crutches. I dig the platform, I’d recommend it.

But I’m sincerely dissapointed in ZOS over blowing off a gui update. A real one. Its reaching the point it is downright disrespectful to their customers, in my opinion. Needs to be front burnered for a fact.

If you're going to have to start over anyway, wouldn't it be better just to stick with your existing PC account but start over on the PC EU server? Same account, same game client installation, just switch servers at login and enjoy less lag than playing on the PC NA server from Europe.

You will make more friends on console, the PC crowd is a little full of itself as you can tell by their responses.
I transferred from PC to PS4 and still maintain and play my PC account as well.
The PvP scene is definitely more populated on PS4. They broke the game with the Summerset release but are in process of fixing the threading/rendering bugs.

PC plays way smoother and you're not limited to the slow camera speed that console has.

PC Beta > PS4 (base) > PC with 1080Ti and all the bells and glory > PS4 Pro

I’ll take a bit less razzle-dazzle and 30FPS for built in coms and better socializing any day. It really does make a difference, especially if you pug. No one EVER communicates on PC, and when they do it’s mostly useless in a twitch-based scenario. I think my moment of true epiphany was being in my second Sanctorum guild run in one week where threeish people still weren’t in Discord.

It’s also much easier to capture, stream share (press of a button). Graphically the high end console versions (seen the X1X at my bro in-law’s) look great, and a step up from base consoles or mid-tier PCs. Not much to miss really. Anecdotal, but I find better players on console in general. I think it’s the arcadey nature of the game—this is not tab target friendly, especially PVP.

You’ve invited the typical PC Master race fapping and lols with this bait, though, but as someone who’s been on both platforms that’s my two cents.

@Violynne , I have a wireless USB keyboard plugged into my Xbox, makes chatting work easily. Enter to bring up the text chat overlay, start typing, using the same /commands.

I have the chat pad. It's helpful, but I experience an issue where sometimes I can use the chat overlay (to the right of the screen), but most of the time, the stupid chat app shows up, blocking my game.

I can't figure out how to use only the in-game chat window.

    Any idea?

    This game sucks on console.

    It is truly awful.

I played on XB1 for years. Even went out and bought an XB1X and a USB3 SSD to try to improve performance. It did improve performance, I got like 9 FPS on Rakkhat instead of 5 FPS.

Performance sucks. The lack of addons is a pain. The controller UI isn't great. Using guild traders is awful. You get booted out of Guild Chat into Group Chat every time you join a group or port while in a group. Bugs take forever to fix. Patches are few and far between. Every patch brings some *major* issue where some content is prone to hard-crashes or disconnects. We've gone months on end on console where premier content was totally unplayable (hello, MoL crash bug that persisted for 6 months). Text chat is a pain in the butt unless you have a keyboard. The only positive is built-in voice chat, but that also means you have to deal with children and their ghetto blasters running around in area chat in every zone.

There is absolutely no reason to switch from PC-->console unless you have to. No benefits at all. I'm sure there are and will be responses that try to bring up things about the community or the skill of the playerbase or whatever, but those are just excuses people use to compensate because they know, deep down, that they're playing a gimped version of the game.

When I switched to PC I was legitimately angry that I spent so much time and money playing a vastly inferior version of the game.

And this isn't a /r/pcmasterrace thing. I don't care. I still play games on my XB1, and I love the console couch/controller experience, but ESO just doesn't work right on consoles unless your gameplay is super casual.

I have a chat pad on one Xbox, pressing Enter sometimes opens the overlay, but sometimes pulls up the console's keyboard. I haven't identified a pattern to it.

On my primary Xbox I use a Logitech wireless USB keyboard, and that NEVER opens the console's virtual keyboard.
