Zenimax also said that it's "BUYER BEWARE" and you can get scammed. So protect yourself. Take pics if you can. Not sure how you can protect yourself against scammers but if you plan to be very careful.

Just like in real life and in ESO universe, people are shaddy and you can very well be scammed and not get recompensated.
These sorts of threads are becoming as confusing as the replies from ZOS to questions about them. The title talks about the trading of crown store items for gold through the official gifting system, while the original post talks about selling crowns for gold through zone chat. Two very different things.

The only way to give somebody crowns in game is to purchase a crown item and gift it to them which is "okay" by zos. However if you were to give someone gold and they were to give you money outside of the game for instancevia gift cards, paypal, or any other outlet. That would be against the ToS and zos's policy.
