In TES5 there were quests that would make you the jarl’s “thane”, i think ESO should take it a step further. ZOS should have a quest/dlc in the future where you become lord/king of an area, it would come with the addition of a house you can purchase with in game gold or crown store for your throne. The best areas for this would be colovian highlands or nibenay valley, or somewhere in skyrim i think. And to go back ti questing you can leave the city in charge to your steward or deputy or hand of the king, whatever you wana call it.

This needs to go to the Homestead Forums pages, not a bad idea but some people would disagree with this topic.

I really hope that housing gets a major update to allow us to make and manage a small settlement.

In case zos reads this I would love it if completing certain quests in certain ways let you invite npc's to stay at your settlement. For example the outcast hulkynd Mankar in Summerset and the escaped slave Eoki in Vvardenfell. Even better would be if these quests had multiple endings so you have to choose which settler you recruit.

I know not everyone will enjoy this dimension of the game, and I could play literally any other recent Bethesda game for some version of settlements (fallout 4, fallout 76, TES Blades even Skyrim hearthfire) but I hate how silent and still ESO housing is.
#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

This would be fun. Now question is what some cities would look like in players hands? Still might be interesting to use on less traveled cities.

I don't think my Vestige would be interested in being in charge of a settlement, but I think it would be a cool addition for anyone keen on a feature like that. It could be tied to an achievement, like the towns in Cyrodiil where you have to complete a number of quests to get the associated achievements.
