For @XGCAlbatr0ss and others who asked (sorry I cant remember all names, which threads, or even section it was in) answer is yes, it is possible to convert excess mimic stones into Culanda Laquer. Finally I can do something useful with all the mimic stones I have collected.

Use stone to create item that normal requires the Culanda Laquer - then decon it iirc 50% to get item.

This, same as transmuting weapons into nirnhomed and deconstruct if you are pvp player and overflow with them.Why would you get banned? People have been doing this for years, turning mimics into stahlrim and grinstones and other uncommon stones.
