Server Transfer

Prohn

Can there be a one time action to switch every thing from one server to the opposite?
I started on Eu Xbox but now have switched Na but all my CP is on Eu

No, there's never been any indication that it's going to happen.

Would be nice. We live in the 21st century. People have global careers. Lots of games offer the service.

Well there was the possibility of doing this back when the console game launched, so that players could transer from PC to console. But it‘s been a few years so I guess it‘s not gonma happen again.

ZOS has a help article in their support site stating that they have no plans to code and implement this. I doubt that will change as a transfer is very complicated.

Oh I did not know that. That sucks :(

I have no idea why they do not offer server changes. We know they can do it since they already have. Most MMOs use server changes as a decent revenue stream. Put the service on the crown store and make money like so many other MMOs

No there isnt a way to do that, but there should

They should just combine the European and NA servers

I would pay a lot for this to happen as my serving is toxic and dead

No, they have not done server transfers to an active server before. They copied PC accounts into an empty console server one time before console launch. That is entirely different than copying into a now fully populated server.

It would require new coding which ZOS had indicated they are not working on.

Because you might have the login name ‘denis’ on pc and someone else has it on Xbox and some other person has it on ps4, so OF COURSE you cannot go and kick them off their login name with your desire to transfer ‘denis’ from pc to anywhere.

There was no transfer from pc to console. It was not a transfer, it was a COPY. They COPIED account info from the pc to the brand new empty console database. The day after the copying was done, those people could log in on their still-existing pc characters and their console character at the same time.

If you truly want a transfer, you will have to be ready for the account to be deleted from the server you are leaving.

I realize there are issues that crop up like same names etc. and yet many many MMOs offer the service still. Usually the transferring person has to take the hit on name conflicts (change to name/addition of suffix etc). Server transfers are a common action in many MMOs and a good revenue stream for the smarter MMOs. Hopefully one day ZOS will offer it.

To be honest I'd be more than satisfied with just a CP tranfer

It has nothing to do with any if that. Most mmos operate exclusively on pc and the company running the game have complete and direct access to revenue altering services and actions. If i want to move my ps4 progress onto my pc account, what conversation does zos have with sony regarding my decision to pay zos for a service that directly takes money away from sony? What if the primary feed back is that console performance is abysmal (no fault of sony mind you) and that is the main influencer in transfers ?. Sony would care far more about my ps+ subscription, which i would drop in a heart beat if not for eso, as well as my microtransaction purchases with i have to assume sony benefits from in some way everytime crown purchases are made on psn (i could be wrong on that though), then they would care about the one time initial purchase of eso on the psn.

Technical server database limitations aside, a server transfer service is almost universally a "*** you" to MS and sony from zos and im sure there are legal bindings in place to protect them (sony & MS) from zos creating an option to literally take money from them.

Now if there is probable cause that the online infrastructure provided by sony and ms as well as their platform is problematic to the point of effecting game stability ie strict and costly patching criteria, console hardware instability, account security etc etc, and thus causing loss of customers for zos then there might be a case, but that is opening an entirely different can of worms.

I would absolutely love being able to transfer my account from ps4 (ghetto) to PC (penthouse). The quality of life looks so much better over there.

OP is asking for a region switch, not a platform switch. There are no issues with changing regions on the same platform.
