Wolfhunter & Update 19 preview - Looking good!

So I'd just like to share the werewolf update, it looks pretty good all around!

So two new dungeons, we all new that, with their obligatory "new gear sets, monster masks, and unique collectibles" :tongue: seems they might have a cool story too:
"Be warned: As you stalk and fight your way through this extraordinary Daedric realm, you might find that you yourselves are the ones hunted!"

Has an awesome new outfit by the look of things, not sure how it'd be unlocked though, would be pretty cool if it's a new motif, gotta sad feeling it's going to be a crate outfit.
Also, crossbow? :smiley:

Really like the description of the new battleground map:
"This update includes an all-new Battlegrounds map and AvA additions for Tamriel's PvPers." It "features fortified stone structures and walls that should seem familiar to those who fight in the Alliance War."

"The map is only semi-symmetrical, meaning how you navigate the arena will differ depending on your team."

"Istirus Outpost is also the first Battleground to allow players to mount. This'll bring a faster pace to the arena, but it will also be welcome relief for Stamina PvPers who no longer need to expend resources to get to the fight. Mount up!"

Some changes to open world pvp. I'm particularly looking forward to the Recall Stones!:

"Update 19 also shakes up the open-world PvP of the Alliance War with the addition of Keep Recall Stones. These new items give you and your fellow warriors the ability to traverse Cyrodiil like never before. Finally, Update 19 reintroduces keep degradation and condenses both the levels for Keeps and Resources. With these changes, it is as important as ever to capture Resources, giving small group or solo players meaningful ways to contribute to the war. Keep an eye out for new AvA and Battlegrounds rewards, too, including the Gladiator costume and all-new Battlegrounds Outfit styles! "

I know I'm excited for Respec 2.0! Great change to skill management I think a lot of people will appreciate:

"With this update, when you reset your Skill Points, you are able to remove Skills individually and are not forced to re-add all of them from scratch, much like how you respec your Champion Points."

And finally, to go along with the werewolf themed expansion, we have confirmation that werewolves are getting a tasty update:

"If you have a character that carries the curse of lycanthropy, you can enjoy a series of broad improvements and changes to how the Werewolf Skill Line plays with Update 19."
"These changes place an emphasis on improving their ferocity and momentum in combat, and they affect both the Skill Line's Passive and Active Abilities. For example, the Blood Rage Passive will now increase the duration of your transformation when you deal damage instead of when you take it, and the Roar Active Ability is now instant cast."

    I really should be hyped for the werewolf revamp but I can't for a little reason which no matter how hard I try, I can not change. The DK passives synergize terribly with werewolf.

    In fact, you lose access to all of them after becoming a werewolf and when your buffs fall, it means you effectively lost all your passives.(no ultimate gain = no battle roar, no access to helping hands or mountain's blessing, no access to burning heart or elder dragon either.)

    I hate to be a downer at such a promising update, but as a player who likes theorycrafting and working on his own builds, knowing the fact that playing a Dk Werewolf is a straight downgrade compared to sorc WW is kind of disappointing.

    In the end, werewolves having some changes is amazing news by itself though, so I'm not going to change topics here. I hope there is more to those werewolf changes than just a single passive change and an ability tweak.

    All I want to know is if you HAVE to download this. I don't do weres or vamps so totally not interested. And since my download bw is severely limited, I need to know if I'm going to have to get up at 3 am for a week....

    You will have to. You can't play a different version of the game on the same server, thats not how online games work sadly.

    UGH. Well, thanks for the heads up. I had a feeling - but it's been so many years since I played an MMO....

    I don't suppose anyone knows how big it's going to be?

    Probably not more than a few gigabytes. Its just two dungeons and a few QoL things.

    I'd be excited if the Werewolf skill line could be used with either stamina or magica characters. As it stands right now I'm not too thrilled...

    "a few gigabytes".... *sigh* I have 12 gigs on a rolling 30 day thing - in other words, it never zeros. So yeah - means I'll be getting up at 3 am for the duration.

    3-6 am is "free zone", doesn't get charged to my account. I'm good with that, but husband (much older than I am) isn't. Eh. It is what it is. Last time this sort of thing occurred I wasn't running out of bw due to setting up a website that "cost" a lot of my bw.

    It is what it is. I do very much appreciate the information.

    I see, I used to have a limited connection aswell(It was like 6 gigs per month), so I can totally understand how much of a pain it is. I really doubt the download size will be too much.

    Let's hope so. See, the bw I use daily isn't an issue (it's like less than 1% of what I have allowed). It's the - uh - major stuff that expands the game that causes me issues.

    Back when I was actively playing WoW (and later RIFT), I had most of the 12 gig allowed available at any given time. That's because the websites I was managing were.... static. I didn't have to do much with them. However, just now, I had to set up a site and move a very active forum there - because our free host sold out to tapatalk and well.... it was just ugly....

    So before I decided to play ESO, I'd already hit 90+% of my allowed. So a good friend from that forum sent me a stick with the game install, and that of course helped a lot. But I still had to spend 3 days getting up at 3 am to download 10+ gigs of stuff....

    All this was easier to micromanage when I was 10+ years younger! I REALLY appreciate your input.

    The outfit I am almost sure is the toxin doctor- which has already been released, but most likely will show up again in a crate. The crossbow is the current one from the fighters guild skill line. So I think the only thing new in the picture is the hat.
    My understanding is we will get the hat as a 'freebie' when you just enter one of the new dungeons for the first time.

    Vamps and werewolves need a complete overhaul mechanics and skills wise so i'm not sure how this DLC will play out for a lot of customers..

    I'm not sure how a dungeon will be played at hardcore levels if werewolves are needed to pass it.. That would make me laugh though.

    I don’t think we’ll need to be a werewolf, it looks like we’ll be going into the dungeons to hunt werewolves. It’s just that the transformation is getting a rework alongside the update ^^

    Also, I did vCOA last night and our main dps (the other was cp130) was a werewolf.
    To be fair though it was horrific, really slow trash clears, no one understood ground heals and as nb healer I had the only aoes xD

    I agree vamps and ww need updates, which is why I’m happy to see one coming for ww. During the feedback event zos said that vamp update is on the horizon, but not to hold our breath as it’s a back burner project with a lot to be released beforehand

    I am very happy to see an update to werewolf. I would be even more happy if there were any changes for my beloved stam knight.

    The new BG is just a thinly-veiled attempt to give the Adept Rider set some use. I guarantee it won’t work. A turd coated in chocolate remains a turd.
