Main Quest help please.

Hi all, im after some help or advice please on the main quests. Back when i was around level 35 i think it was i remember doing (The Weight of Three Crowns: Convince all three alliances to invade Coldharbour.) part of the quest. 3 differnt people/alliances have a cat then walk off then some demon ghost figure appears then 3 mini boss monsters at each alliance. kills those then move on. Thats the last part of the main quest i did. Im now level 50 champion 91. And no follow on from the quest. I cant find anything on the maps and nothing in the logs. I would really like to carry on with the quest now but for the life of me i havnt got a clue how to start or carry on. Iv tried talking to the ghostly old man in the harbourage but doesnt give me anything.

You continue on by doing the main quest line in Coldharbour

Have you finished the main quest for the Fighters' guild, because that ties in with the main quest too.

Ok, easy one. You just go to Coldharbour, into the Hollow City, outside the Church is the Groundskeeper. You then have to restore the Hollow City to its former Glory by rescuing people all over Coldharbour and you need to rescue the Last King of the Ayleyds and Vanus Galerion. After this, the way will open up to begin with the Chasm and the Endless Stair to kick Molag Bars Ass

You have to finish the Coldharbor questlines (you can pick it up from talking to the Groundskeeper in the Hollow City) before you can do anymore Main Quest Missions.

You need to progress with the mages and fighters guild quests as well, and that will move you through all the zones until you get to coldharber

Ok iv completed the mission in Coldharbour, rescueing the king ect ect. and followed on with the missons afterwards. vampire part no the missions are clear and nothing else. been back to the harbourage and no main quest.

Any tips?

Have you tried talking to the Groundskeeper again in the Hollow City? Once you have completed the necessary quests/rescues you will be able to tell her you are ready to confront Molag Bal.

You don't need to progress ANY 'guild' to finishing the main quest. With One Tamriel, ALL zones are available to all players from the start. There is absolutely no tie-in between the main quest and Mages/Fighters guild, at all... each of those quests are completely separate.

OP... you are at the point where you need to move upwards on your map. It sounds to me like you just finished the 'Harvest Heart' questline... and the only way to progress forward is to pick up the next questline which is just north of the Harvest Heart location. If you have a mini-map, it will be the near the wayshrine just north of the Harvest Heart- that's where you'll speak to the Alyeid King to continue the quest.

From the 'vampire part' keep pushing north. You will run into the king and crew again and be able to pickup the next stage. You dont go back to the harborage at this point.

From the start...You have to rescue the king out west and then rescue vanus out east. Once that is done cadwell should open up the gate to start pushing north up the chasm. Keep heading north and you will run into the king and crew again and get more quests.

I find that there's often a good deal of guidance in the quest journal...do you have any quests listed under categories of either Coldharbour or Main Quest? If so, read the details of the quests, that may give you some direction. In general, you need to discover and rescue a certain number of allies spread out through the bottom 2/3 of Coldharbour. There's a hidden counter in the game for rescued allies, and when you hit the number, then the Groundskeeper in the Hollow City will then allow you into the cathedral. You can rescue as many or as few of the allies as you like but there are certain ones that are required, such as the Ayleid King and Vanus. Check your quest log to see if you still have the quest "The Army of Meridia" open. if so, then talk to the Groundskeeper. She'll either allow you to go in, or if she doesn't then you still have more allies to rescue. If you've rescued the minimum, but there are still others that could be rescued, she'll leave it up to you, but she'll let you in if you choose. From that point, the game should ultimately take you north, out of the Hollow City, and you should be on your way.

BTW, one of the previous posters stated that there are no requirements from the guilds. That is correct. I assume it was changed at the time of One Tamriel, which was also mentioned. There may still be some story lines intertwined, but there's no longer any quest or character level requirements. In fact, on one character, just for fun, I started with Morrowind, completed that zone, and then once I got to the alliance's starter zone, I set it aside, and went all the way through the Main Quest, also completing Coldharbour as needed as well. At the time, my character was somewhere in the upper 30's or so, maybe low 40's.

Sorry, I posted my previous note before I saw your note here. I assume that the Groundskeeper allowed you into the cathedral, the king gave you the next quest, and you've already left Hollow City through the northern exit? Then just keep going north. There are a couple places that you won't be able to proceed without interaction, cut scenes, etc with other NPC's, so don't hesitate to go north, you won't be able to outrun or miss the storyline as you go. Just keep an eye out for the quest giver arrows...

just to update. the last part of the quest i just finished was in the chasm where u rescue some guy in chains. collecting health then stamina then magica from differnt parts inside. then go onto him casting a spell to destory the chasm i think it was and you have to defend him.

Sorry for the lack of quest names im not too good at remember them or listening to the dialog

Yup, that's the "right side" of coldharbour, rescuing Varnus and destroying the great shackle. The "left side" is taking care of all the small fry, then doing a jailbreak on the ayleid king from the dark oubilette. And once you done both... you talk to the groundskeeper in front of the chapel, and start the "top side" of coldharbour, the big assault on Molag Bals planemeld vortex... and the final quest for the "prophet-given" mainstory where you kick Molag in his Bal and get your soul back will trigger only after you done that one...
...
...and then you get to do caldwells, and craglorn, and all the DLCs, and continue the story. If you like to do things in the proper order that is.

Ah... when you mentioned 'vampires' I assumed the 'Harvest Heart' since it's vampire-centric... forgot about the vampires in the 'Rescue Vanus' quest. However, as mentioned before, the journal can be good about hints as to what to do next... the problem comes when you complete a quest and there is no NPC running up to you offering the next phase of the quest- which is what happens once you complete the Harvest Heart. I found myself lost there the first time as there are no hints, and looking at your map there are other quests you can complete but none offer the next phase of the main quest. It's only when you go north from the Harvest Heart, towards the wayshine, that you find the Ayleid King, Vanus and the rest of the crew waiting for you.
