Is Siroria's Overrated

So I finished leveling up my MagWarden PvE DPS (NO BEAR). She's running 5x Necro, 5x Siroria, 2x Valkyn. Dunmer Vampire.

I originally had Julianos then switched out Siroria and when I did, I noticed a significant decrease in DPS by moving around, not standing still bc who stands still in combat?

So my question is this...is Siroria's Set overrated?

Not particularly great on my petsorc, although I see a bit of increase (1-1.5k). I think it is less beneficial on a heavy attack build. However, on my magplar (all light attacks) I see a significant jump (4-5k). Works well in group content. Plenty of opportunity to stand in one spot, stack, etc. However, probably wouldnt use in places like Maelstrom.

It's a very good set, but also requires a lot of micromanagement to use outside of a small set of situations. Players who look at it in a dummy parse, and proclaim that it's the best thing since sliced bread are overselling it, though.

So, I'd call it, "overhyped," rather than actually overrated.

It’s taking time, getting used to Siroria.
But you‘ll learn, when to leave the circle to wander around with it and how long you can stay outside, for example, to avoid boss mechanics.
Of course, it’s not for heavy movement encounters, but really fun for the rest.
However, Julianos is not a bad set.

Umm i can stand still in combat lol why wouldnt u be able to? Theres only a few fights in the entire game where sororia isnt best inslot. Almost every content in game allows for hard stacking on boss. If you are a dps who moves a lot in and out of your designated area you arent a good player and you shouldn’t be running sororia. And btw julianos is trash compared to many other sets available in todays game. Julianos was good a while back nomore.

Well I'm practicing with it now and so far I think its pretty good. Maybe I need to try it in a group bc I'm soloing dungeons for sets and skill points and want to try VMA with it. But maybe I should use something else if not in a group?

It also depends on one's play style. I tend to move around a lot in combat, so Siroria probably wouldn't be all that helpful for me.

Julianos is still not a bad choice, but for most fights Siroria should be better.

Do you play in groups? If so, moving around a lot means your healer is going to struggle to hit you with Combat Prayer. When I’m grouped with DDs who dance all over the place (esp. I’m boss fights), I don’t even bother trying to chase them around to give the buff, because nobody got time for that. It’s a 100% avoidable DPS loss. There’s no reason to move around a lot on a static boss fight if the tank has positioned it appropriately.

If in a dungeon, I stay still. But if I'm doing vMA or soloing dungeons, I move around a lot

Definitely not overrated, most fights in the game are static enough that it's BiS. The key is to just remember to always move back into the circle whenever you're forced out. If a new circle is going to drop be sure you're not in a spot that you will have to move out of.

Play styles aside, you should be standing between a healer and the boss generally. This should be limiting your ability to move around a lot.

We're talking about vet content, where you can't just pitch a tent for 20 seconds while Siroria spins up, and then stand in it for the rest of the fight. Though, I suppose, PvP is another good instance. Yes, please, stand in your Siroria, while I razor lego the entire area.

We're talking about vet content, where you can't just pitch a tent for 20 seconds while Siroria spins up, and then stand in it for the rest of the fight. Though, I suppose, PvP is another good instance. Yes, please, stand in your Siroria, while I razor lego the entire area.

Im in a progression guild for vcr which is considered toughest trial in game and our guild leader demands all magicka dps in sororia. Why? Because every other guild pulling top leaderboard skills is using it. Even without 100% uptime its bis for every magicka class.

Also i did vmaw hm with sororia and 3 others were running sororia and nobody had a problem with it and we got a 90k score with a few randoms we had to pull in.

Yes its not bis for all content this is true for example vas +2. But the point is to atleast have it in your inventory so when needed you can throw it on if that makes sense

Yeah totally, should replace it with Varen’s Legacy instead.
