Trials “Lite”, 8 People with LFG Suggestion

Suggesting this to try to fill a lot of “gaps” in the end-game scene. Suggestion is to create an 8-player Trial (2 tanks, 2 healers, 4 dps) that is accessible only through LFG (premade groups of 8 can queue and enter). The content would be based on Normal difficulty but would be tuned to be easier and gear drops would be green quality to compensate.

Pros:
-Newer or inexperienced players have a “safe” environment to try the trial scene and learn boss fights before progressing to Normal and then maybe Veteran. More players that are comfortable doing trials, the better the trial player base will be.
-Players can do/experience trials without needing to be in a dedicated group or guild. Also able to do them at any time, better flexibility with real life schedules.
-People can use them to farm gear (with a bigger investment to upgrade with drops being green but still pretty easy to do), helping the newer/inexperienced players in the process.
-An option for groups/guilds to experiment or if unable to get 12 people together.

Cons:
-People who typically do Normals may feel pressured to only do this version due to it being easier and thus have to figure 4 regular players to cut. This could be allievated by Normals being/feeling faster with experienced groups that don’t have new players learning the fights.
-Developer resources that may, or people think may, be used to make newer content for everyone.
-All of the current LFG bugs would likely still be present and could be even more frustrating in this environment.

Thoughts?

Alternate suggestion: Have the developers create an in-game “Trial Guide” for players to reference so they don’t need to go out of the game for information. At this point in the game’s life very few trial groups are going to want to do runs just to teach people fights.

    I like the idea of smaller 'trial' groups but I don't think we need to put a requirment on the roles needed, just allow it as 8 people, no need to specify role like normal trials.

    Oh i see you want is as LFG, maybe 1 tank, 1 heal 6 dps. or a 6 man grp, tank heal, 4 dps.

    Yeah the role numbers were just there because it’s required for LFG. And I was fine 6/8. I just felt like 6 would need to make it even easier than if it had 8 and I don’t want it to be sooo easy that everyone just does it instead of Normal. Like I don’t want it to be geoups do LFG, upgrade the gear they want to purple/gold, then skip Normal and go straight to Veteran.

    I would love something like this, as it's currently a bit difficult for newer cp 160+ players to get into trials since the only ways are through craglorn pugs and guilds.

    The issue would be fake tanks and healers scewing up the group...

    Easier solution: Have trials scale to the number of people entering.

    There are good reasons why only around 5 per cent of the community ever even remotely bothers with trials (and barely one per cent of that for hard mode).

    - Being forced into a group means there's an incredibly high likelihood you're going to be dealing with a very manipulative sociopath or a person with an equally destructive/toxic personality trait;
    - Only extraverts, frankly, actually want to be in a group that large, introverts would prefer somewhere in the region of 5 at the very, very most;
    - The primary focus of ESO is casual and small group, so you don't have the kind of community to support content as large as a group of 12 any way outside of the small per centage that's already organised for it (thus cutting the rest off from that content).

    Looking at the latter, a lot of people just accept that trials are a lost cause and swear them off.

    If trials scaled to the number of people entering, there'd be a lot more people playing trials. I mean, that's a given. Like I said in another thread where people were asking about trials (and specifically why they're so toxic): Not everyone has the extraverted tolerance of sociopaths, and not everyone has the tools to be able to deal with them. Manipulative sociopaths are just grating to introverts (like myself). That's why actual introverts (as in, introversion that is introversion and not social anxiety being mistaken for it) tend to avoid it like the plague.

    Of course, if you're introverted and you have social anxieties? Well...

    Having trials scale to the number of people entering them would actually help sell more trials. I mean, I've bought content DLC even when I have access to it via my subscription. I never do that with dungeon DLCs of course because I can't play them. I feel if ZOS changed trials so they scale in the way I mentioned, sales of them would go through the roof.

    I wouldn't want them to take my word for it, though. I'd want them to run a poll and link to it from the launcher so that they could get a good feel as to how the majority feels (rather than the small sample who post on the forums).

    I'm not sure why everyone wouldn't support this, really, but... you know, selfishness, sociopathy, et cetera. You can't manipulate people if they aren't forced to group with you.
