I read this over the weekend and just thought about ESO among another game I play.

After reading this, do you all suspect this type of change would allow some of the PC add-one to find their way to Xbox?

No... only because they won't add anything to one console if the other cannot also have it. So unless Sony allows addons, they won't add it for either.

They as in ZOS. They're not going to play favorites and we know what kind of war would be started if suddenly XBOX received a major perk while PS4 players received nothing.

There is already a gulf between the PC privileged community and the console scrubs who have to make do without add-ons. I don't see why they wouldn't allow it for XB even if PS couldn't have it. But, I suspect it would have more to do with not wanting to bother with doing whatever coding they'd need to do in order to make it work, unless MS made it super easy and somehow incentivized them to do it.

Only tangentially related, but there is already a difference between consoles in terms of how we can purchase ESO+, and PS got an exclusive scrib pre-order pet that XB did not. I think that if MS makes it worth their while, they may consider it.

Yeah...LOL...in addition to mods. They're already playing favorites. I guess PC elites don't want any console getting in on all the favored child perks they get.

But, to be fair, they also get held back by their console stepsiblings. :D

ZOS could, however, make improvements on their own UI for console after looking at what others have done for PC. We got buff trackers, they'd just have to want to do more.

Bethesda was completely open to adding user-created mods for Fallout 4 and Skyrim to Xbox even though ps4 wasn't capable. If pc can have it, no reason xbox couldn't if it is capable and MS approves.

You'd need ESO+ to use add ons and mods.

PC "master race" people always crack me up. For the record, on consoles you actually play the game how it was meant to be played. Don't take it out on us because you need the virtual equivalent of cheat codes to play even moderately competent.

For the record, the person you quoted is an Xbox player and was using sarcastic self-deprecation to refer to backhandedly patronize the PC folks.

Yeah...no idea about the other comment on ZOS not being bothered if PlayStation cant do it....
This allows them to charge for the mods so from a business standpoint, its an opportunity for both ZOS and those who create MODs

ALong with this and the new mouse + keyboard hardware and software offerings for xbox one games, it would seem to be ideal.
This allows ZOS to use the PC UI and that makes modders have to do little to offer for xbox.

Keep comforting yourselves with the statement that console "Plays the way it was meant to be played", while the majority of console players seem to whine, cry, and beg for add-ons...

Tell me, how is fixing known UI issues and implementing basic UI systems that should already be in-game considered cheating?

Stupid argument, there are plenty of mods not allowed on PlayStation that are allowed on Xbox with the modding on Skyrim and Fallout 4.

Um it's not even about playing favorites. With skyrim sony didn't want the mods in the first place. The only reason skyrim got mods is because their community bitched and rightfully so, PS community deserved the mods as any of us did. They still don't have half of what xbox has and that's not fair but it is what it is.

Don't think nobody is going to hold back mods just because one side refuses to allow it.

With that being said though i highly doubt addons will be a thing on console in general. I transferred over recently from xbox to pc and there is a lot addons that simply just don't work with game pad mode (controller). I would love to see it happen and wished it did since launch on console i just don't see this type of mods happening for ESO.

You don't need addons if the developer simply makes those addons innate features of the game... Skyshards and Lorebooks should be on the damn map - and speaking of the map, why is there no MINI-MAP in this open-world game? This crap should have been addressed YEARS AGO.
