Has anyone crafted gold jewelry yet?

After several weeks of game play since the Summerset launch on XBOX, I have 4 chromium grains. I estimate that without spending several million gold to buy the mats I would need, it will take me years to be able to gold out a pair of purple rings.
So I'm wondering -- has anyone done it yet? If so, how? Did you spend a fortune, or somehow grind the heck out of JC nodes until you earned the chromium the hard way?

✭✭✭✭✭I have seen gold crafted jewelry in traders, but havent made any myself. I did make a purple set of triune shacklbreaker jewelry, which has been really nice.
On PC/NA, it is costing about 600k currently to go from purple to gold. I see Chromium Plating for 75k in zone chat on a somewhat frequent basis. If you wanted to do a whole set, you might have to wait a bit at that price though. Prices are falling, but not nearly fast enough IMO.1 -

That's encouraging, actually. On XBox, a single chromium grain can sell for 20-30K. I actually don't think it'll fall that much. I think the most we can hope for is for Chromium Plating to settle at 10x the cost of Tempering Alloy... which would still be a good 58-60k per Plating at current prices. After all, it literally takes 10x as much material to get Chromium Plating as it does Tempering Alloy, and that's assuming the RNG is the same (and so far it seems to me that Chromium Grains are less common than Tempering Alloy).2 -

I agree. Chromium will continue to be more rare than alloy as blacksmithing has hirelings and also rewards gold materials for top tier writs. I might go so far as to say it could drop to a value somewhere in the middle of the other gold mats. I'd put the absolute low value at 4000 per grain assuming no other changes and that's also assuming that many players just ignore the system over time and just start dumping the mats instead of saving up 80 pieces for an upgrade. Even if it drops that low, that still puts one plating at 40,000 gold which is possibly appropriate for gold upgrades, but is in no way logical for completing JC master writs.0 -

I am a big fan, even on my magic sorc. People say triune sucks on a sorc, but man, the stam and health are nice, and it's not like killing people is the issue with this class. I like them even more in non CP. I have been using them on multiple magic toons, just to get them the tier one rewards for the 30 day campaign. It gives so much flexability. You can pair with front bar damage sets, or back bar defense utility sets.
The stats are nuts. On my mag sorc, I am sitting at 43k magic, 24k health, and 19k stam, and that's with running witchmothers. That is with infused tristat glyphs on the big pieces and three triune traits on jewelry. Some might think that magic is a bit low, but I have never felt more survivable. Being able to dodgeroll a few times after breaking free has me surviving things I never would have before.
Once I can upgrade a full set of 3 for around a million, I will make them gold. I am 2.5% of the way there with gathering my own mats. Haha1 -

@Taleof2Cities weird coincidence ... what were the results of your tests with Kvatch Gladiator on your Stamplar?
I've been testing it on a stamsorc (Bloodthirsty + Crushing Weapon + Bound Armaments + Kvatch Gladiator makes for really strong combo), and so far the results are really promising. I'm parsing (solo) 1-2k higher than with Automaton, Briarheart, Ravager, or Advancing Yokeda (with Relequen and Stormfist). Average with Kvatch has been right around 44k, versus 41-42.4 with the other sets.

I have similar stats. I think you didnt mention it, but mag regen is also insane (I'm sitting at 2.1k).
Currently I'm running Shacklebreaker/Necropotence/Shadowrend... the surviveability is insane, not to mention the multiple executes!
For anybody curious, 9/10 bgs you make Paragon. The only sore point is 1v3+ gets dicey. Were sturdy, but the burst has to come from somewhere

My DPS improvement was slightly higher ... but I mostly play magicka characters (i.e I don’t pull 40k on a Stamplar ). Very fun though.
Yes, you’ll have to create a template character and do some digging to find the container with gold platings. Then, simply transfer them to the bank for your main crafter to use.0 -
