Everyone loves a bit of RP, and since everyone's hard at work trying to make the game playable again, we've got time for it. Maybe this won't be removed.
My dearest Rena,
I hope this letter finds you well in Ebonheart. I've missed you terribly and yearn for the day when I can begin my journey back to the Ebon Flask, into your arms again. I trust that my dear friend, Renam, is taking care of you in my absence.
The last 28 days have been the most grueling of my existence. As the war continues, we've encountered an evil far worse than anything Molag Bal could have devised. There is a curse upon the land that knows no alliance, and it is claiming the lives and sapping the will of every warrior on the battle field. This dark, hidden force constantly disrupts every effort to recapture the Imperial City and bring an end to the conflict that has kept us apart, and seems to do so only for it's own amusement; for there is no discernable motive at work. Every battle is decided by one side, or all sides becoming frozen in time and defenseless. Many suspect this is the work of Sheogorath, who laughs at us all in his madness, others whisper of a unknown force called Apathia, Lord of Incompetence, who wreaks havoc with absolute indifference.
28 days...I feel as though I may go mad as well.
Joining allies often results in losing the ability to communicate with them, or they losing the ability to communicate with us.
Every day, I must slaughter defenseless, frozen enemies. Looking into their helpless faces haunts my dreams.
Every day, I enter a battle, and without warning time will stand still. I hear the battle raging but I cannot move...I cannot fight...I can only hear the laments of my frozen comrades and the rage in their voices before they fall silent. Then I wake, as if from a bad dream, and find that all my countrymen have been slaughtered by this terrible curse.
There is no glory in this fight. This is butchery. Madness heaped upon madness, and I cannot comprehend how the Divines could have allowed this curse to come into Nirn, let alone persist for as long as it has.
There is no indication that this doom will end soon. I've heard that many warriors have lost their will and have returned to their homes. Many, like myself, continue to struggle but our sanity is slowly fading.
If this is indeed the work of Sheogorath, he has outdone himself. War has always been difficult, but this curse has made it hopeless.
Yours while my mind holds,
Crushes With Gravity
