While resting for a while in the midst of the Covenant attacks, you have made your way through a moderately suspicious alley. Fittingly enough, that's the very location of the ragged inn you've decided be your make-shift camp for the night. Just a couple of ales, a few hours of shut-eye, and just to get those boots off is all you need before venturing back out to the front lines.
But is that really what you want? Is the never-ending waves of blood really what you're all about? Those very thoughts were the reason you took down that poster in the alley outside and now holds it in front of your eyes. It's a rugged piece of paper. It would seem obvious that it wasn't brought up directly from the cleanliness of an office. From the looks of it you'd assume it had been briskly written somewhere in the open and crudely put into a pocket. The letters written in red ink are a bit faint and hard to read, but you manage to make out the majority of the information.
You tired of endless bloodspill? You fed up with putting your life on the line every day for a measly soldier pay, maybe worse yet, no pay at all? You a generally sneaky character?
Then you might want to continue reading.
Mephajul Tong
Reconnaissance is the name. Money is the game.
Your first mission is to find us.
You drift away to sleep shortly after from the comfort of the bed. When you wake up you notice that your boots aren't the way you left them. And your backpack's suddenly on the table. "Guess I should give it some thought".
OOC
Mephajul Tong means Spy Guild in Dunmeri.
Moving effortlessly through the shadows and below the eyes of our enemies, we bring the fight in a slightly deviant package.
If you feel like espionage, assassinations, subterfuge, reconnaissance and a bit of cloak-and-dagger is your game, then you might have found a new home. In the spirit of the Morag Tong we do what must be done, but through alterior means. Though our goals and methods might vary a bit.
You could see us as a business company, providing services at a cost. That's essentially what we do. Though the services are of the darker nature and aren't locked to merely war. If you want information about your cheating husband, even might want him to have a little accident, you contact us. If you feel some lowly merchant tricked you into selling that expensive locket your mother gave you for merely a handfull of gold coins, we can arrange for that locket to return to you and maybe for the merchant to have to close his store. If you want the emperor dead, we'll make sure it happens as well. If you have the right coin, we'll make all your dirty deeds happen.
The Mephajul Tong is pretty much a bunch of sneaky mercenaries who operate anywhere from private matters to full-scale war missions. Which may or may not include stealing, reconnaissance, espionage, murder, and various other deeds which the general population doesn't want their hands soiled in.
We will engage in sneaky business to both sustain ourselves and our company, as well as sell our services to others. That's why I mentioned it being a RP-PvP guild, since someone might want someone from another alliance offed, and then we'll have to be competent enough to carry out that mission both IC and OOC. Much of the reason behind the PvP aspect is to get our name out and to earn respect internationally in Tamriel. So maybe some Breton Noble in High Rock might live in fear for getting the Mephajul Tong after him, just because he's heard our in-game rumours. We will both OOC and IC try to partake in small-scale PvP to strengthen ourselves and get a name out there. It is all in the name of business, we need to get customers if we're ever going to bring in some gold, right?
We will function a bit like the Dark Brotherhood, in which that you will have to contact us if you are in need of our services, which we will carry out for a moderate fee. This is our IC purpose, though to get more immersion, we will of course take gold as payment, instead of just pretending to get payed.
One could call us chaotic neutral. But faint alignment is present toward the Dunmer. Though anyone is welcome as long as they fit into the mold we seek.
Salary
As I want this to function pretty much like a quest-hub would function in the previous Elder Scrolls games, I really want people to get the feeling that they carry out quests for a reward while being part of this guild. And that reward is brought in depending on how successful the mission was.
No exact numbers will be decided yet. I can merely state the economical chain as it is right now:
Client pays half the cost of the sought service,
Decisions will be made regarding who will carry out the service for highest chance of success,
Service gets carried out,
Client is contacted/client contacts us,
Based on how successful the quest was client either pays the rest of the cost, or if the quest was unsuccessful the client pays nothing more, might even get a refund based on the characteristics of the specific quest.
The income is split accordingly, the company takes its share, and the participant gets the rest.
Different payment plans can be arranged as well. Based on the nature of the deed the client may be obligated to pay the full fee. This may also occur if the client is planning on leaving the country, or through various other means will be unable to keep in touch.
Depending on how good you are as a stalker, your salary will increase. It's all up to you.
Base of Operations
Somewhere in Morrowind. This is information which will come soon enough.
Recruitment
This is probably the most interesting part in any organization. It has to be appropriate IC, but still doable OOC.
Everyone is welcome, as long as they are sneaky ***. If you're a burly Dragon Knight, you'll have to make sure you operate as stealthily as you can if you want to get any pay, and so on. I don't want to have to make this a Nightblade-only guild. Just think of the orc in the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion.
Every race is welcome, as long as you're ready to be centralized to Morrowind, and the faint alignment we have will be mostly toward the Dunmer.
The actual recruitment act will change over time to whatever task I see fit. It can vary from stealing/borrowing an item from an enemy guild, to making a certain person/monster disappear while bringing proof of your deed, to simply finding someone who doesn't want to be found.
The first objective of recruitment is to find me in game. My name is "Eveilia Velnvani". I'm a Dunmer. You may not contact me. Use your skills to find me IC and you might get to join. Bear in mind that it won't be too hard for starters, since I will be running around and questing in the popular zones most of the time.
Ranks
Initiate
Newly joined members who still need to prove that they're not all talk and actually can walk the walk.
You will be scuffed around by your superiors, as is appropriate, you might be forced to tag along on various more or less stupid endeavors your superiors are set to carry out and might be in need of some cannonfodder to achieve.
You will have to prove your mettle, and will be evaluated through your actions and missions by your superiors if you're deemed worthy or not.
Clients will, of course be affected by this as well, as they will rarely give you more important quests of obvious reasons. You'll just have to work your way up there if you want to earn a name for yourself and a bit of gold on the side. Be prepared to be called n'wah and s'wit a lot.
Agent
Yup, you're now an agent. You can hear by the mere name that you're on your way to the top now. The Agents will make out the majority of the guild, as it will be the most common rank to get. You'll be able to carry out moderate quests for moderate pay. Nothing too advanced or over-kill but still nothing that would insult your talents. No more fetching missing children or endless stakeouts on Nords just drinking mead all days. Now you're playing in the moderate league where you will be able to get your name a bit further out! If invaded or of some reason have to partake in grand-scale PvP, you agents will be the bunk of our forces.
Stalker
This is what you waited for, isn't it? The prestigious, fear-instilling, highly sought Stalker rank! Just take the word into your mouth and taste it a bit. Doesn't it get your blood all rushing by just saying it? I bet it does! You're in the big league now, champ! You're no measly n'wah anymore, and you're able to make yourself some heavy gold! You're the personification of the company now and our uttermost outward appearance! It is you who will be judged by the eyes of the outsider to determine the status of the Mephajul Tong, so be veery careful of what you do and whom you speak with. It's obviously a very prestigious position and you'll carry out the heaviest of missions. So if you're not the sneakiest *** out there, then you won't become a Stalker. This is the elite of the elite.
Boss
That's me. I go by many names. But you just call me Boss.
Disclaimer: Take into mind that everything here is in constant change, and the goals present are for the long term. Do not expect to see much of what I've written here instantly. The guild was just created.
