Everyone is really upset about Sloads. Full disclosure, as a stamblade I haven’t really seen much Sloads damage yet so I haven’t had an opportunity to form a personal opinion. But the community sure seems to hate it.
I would note, with every major update we see the release of some set that is CLEARLY above others in performance, and this always causes massive controversy. Many of us remember when proc sets kinda capped at 5-7k damage, and suddenly here comes Vicious Death with its *&
@$*##ing 15k splash damage. Then there was Viper’s Sting and the summer of anti-blade saltiness. Now Sloads.
I have to wonder...maybe the dev team is doing this on purpose. I mean, I can’t imagine they get through early testing and don’t see how effed up some of these set values are. There is NO WAY vicious death didn’t overperform on the PtS. In fact, I remember TONS of feedback saying it was OP. When they release a set this imbalanced, the same thing happens over and over. Everyone rushes to make it or break it and then we all come online and spend endless hours debating the set. So maybe they’re doing it on purpose as a cheap marketing ploy. And then lying to us that they didn’t realize it would Over-perform. They release a set they know will be controversial, then people play because it’s controversial.
Or they’re just not good game developers, which given the PvP performance four years into the game’s life cycle is a distinct possibility.
