Someone please send help before i kill myself... 7 runs and every single time it's an Ice staff.... I'm not sure how much longer I can take this... It's really not the Arena, not the Bosses, Not the RNG mechanics.... It's the damn loot chest at the end that makes me want to pull my hair out from frustration...
Please tell me I'm not alone...

✭✭✭✭✭Farming for vMA weapons was so 2017 ... you realize there are 2-slot bonuses on regular staves, bows, and 2-handers now, right?

RNG will go out of its way to give you non-tank gear, like all my runs in CoH trying for Ebon and getting 3 full sets of Lich instead.

Bow and staves are still considered best in slot.
To OP the best bet is to just stop thinking about the weapons and to start making another reason for running it, such as score. Your drop will come eventually, but this at the very least helps save on frustration a little lol.If you have multiple toons it's fairly easy to get on the weekly leader boards, to get extra drops. Most classes you can get on just by completing the arena in one sitting.3 -

It happened with me as Restro , I had like 8 in a row on Friday.
I opened ticket and they said you must be very lucky! RNG is wise to you

I know he's talking about regular sets, but isn't Maelstrom bow only like 1.5% better than Master Bow? At least seems like it on my parses... I'm finding Master even better for pure single target due to the fact that its effect does not get affected by boss's mobility nearly as much. Could vary from class to class though, which I haven't tested yet.
I'm mainly in it for the 2hand axe. The more bleed DoTs i can get to experiment with the better

I opened 40 of Glirion's undaunted chests yesterday and didn't get a single Selene shoulder in any weight... I would have thought 40 would be enough for one item in any weight/trait but nope! Anyway, good luck with your drops, farming vMA is not fun... 0 -

✭back before DB when lightning sticks were BiS for magicka I kept running it to get 2 (needed them for my mag toons), and I kept getting bows, 2H and S&B. I finally get a lightning stick, but I wanted to keep going to get another, plus I still needed a fire stick.
When I finally got my 2nd one, still no fire stick, a couple resto sticks, a truckload of 2H in any shape, form and trait, enough bows to get all my stam toons equipped, plus some extra ones just in case, I don't even know how many axes I've got (DW set)... but no fire stick.
I thought to myself "well, lightning stick is the one I needed, good enough".
So, yeah...
I love how people keep saying "Back in the day you needed to get the right weapon in the right trait, now you ca just re-trait whatever weapon you get, so it's much easier".
But they kinda forget the addition of all the missing weapons to the loot table, so, the grind now is to actually get the right weapon, and the fact that you won't get vMA weapons from daily trials anymore.
I'm not saying it's harder, it's not, and I'm not saying it's not easier, it is, but the grind still exists, and it's not THAT easier.
Also, I'm fairly sure there's an intern on chest duty, that looks at your build and puts something in just to troll you, so you should try running it with some kind of S&B/Resto staff build on an altmer hybrid with 30/30 mag/stam, just to be sure to confuse the intern enough to get the right kind of weapon.
