Is this a scam?

In Summerset there are two members of the Divine Prosecution located in Reman's Plaza in Alinor. They both issue daily quests. Justiciar Farowel issues contracts (quests) that involve world bosses, while Justiciar Tanorian sends you to delves. There are three achievements each for these two quest givers adding up to thirty completions each.
Because these are quest that you can only get once per day people have been sharing their quest to entice players to join them in achieving them. This is true for the world bosses and geysers more so than the delves.

So here is my question. I solicit an invite to a WB that the leader is sharing the quest for. When I accept the invitation and quest I have been getting quest shares for Justiciar Tanorian’s quest as well. So if I complete the delve quest by myself does the person who shared that quest get the completions as well?

Here is what I think is happening but I could be wrong. I join a WB group. Someone in that group has a delve quest and shares that as soon as you appear in the group. Because you are waiting for a share from the group leader you accept the share not realizing it is not the WB share. The person sharing the delve quest doesn’t go to the delve with me but when I complete the quest they get the completion point. Sort of like using bots at a dolmen. I am wondering if that person shared the quest to all the others in the WB group and gets completion points from each person that completes the delve quest?

This has happened to me several times already. Yesterday I had three delve quest shared that I completed where the sharer was not present. Don’t get me wrong, I need the quest to get the achievement and for that I am thankful but it kind of sucks that the other person doesn’t help out.

No. Only if you are still grouped, both are in the delve and the quest allows for the objectives to be completed by any member of the group (not by each member individually). So if you really don't want to be 'scammed' just ungroup.

I'm pretty sure they need to be in the same vicinity as you in order to get credit. Aside from that, it doesn't matter how many people you shared the quest with you only get the reward once. So no you can't farm rewards if thats what you're asking.

This is not about being paranoid. I answered a solicit to a group invite to a WB group and got several quest shares. When I have focus on a quest and get there and nobody is there I miss out on the WB group.

First of all the group I joined is not the one who offered the shared quest and the quest for that group event is lost to me. If they are not getting points for completion of the quest then why do you think they are doing that? Because they are being nice???

It is actually nice that some are sharing the delve without being prompted, as it is often harder to get delves shared than the group boss ones

When grouping for dailies, people often share other dailies. In almost every WB group someone will ask "anyone have delve to share?", or for a specific delve quest in that zone. Sharing all repeatables in that area is nice, and saves people the trouble of asking.

It's not a scam, nobody is getting credit for delves they don't go to, and I'm a little sad for you that you assumed negative intent, and felt strongly enough to come open a thread about it.

Not about being paranoid? Someone shared quests with you and you made a thread asking if it's a scam.

But anyway, when a leader advertised a WB, sometimes another person in group will share a delve just in case someone needs it because the group isn't doing delves. So just accept it and move to the whole and do the delve later. That's all it is is someone trying to be nice.

I can share my experience doing the Undaunted Delve dailies with friends.

The Undaunted delve is a quick quest you get from Bolgrul in the Undaunted camp to run to a delve, kill people/collect something and kill the delve boss. There are up to 15 quests but you can only get one a day that gives you Undaunted exp...unless you share the quest with people in your group.

So my friends and I shared the quests. I got a quest for a delve in Greenshade. We all go to Greenshade, the killing 10 Veiled Heritance agents completes for all of us (i.e. someone in our group could have just sat out and let us kill all the guys), and killing the boss completed individually (i.e. one time I didn't get a hit in on the boss, I'm pretty sure I had to wait for it to respawn to complete the quest). We all turn int he quest for the reward.

Then my buddy picks up his daily quest for a delve in Deshaan. Off we truck to Deshaan, completing the quest together.

Note that we had to actually be together. There were times a friend would share a quest, and we'd do it at separate times. One person competing the quest did not complete the quest for the other person if they didn't actually do it together. So I could not leech off my friend or they off of me by getting someone else to do the quest if they weren't present and helping out.

Or for another example, I can group up in the Gold Coast and have the Arena quest shared with me. But if I'm not actually fighting in the Arena with the rest of my group, I will not complete the quest. Furthermore, I can only get the reward for the Arena quest once per day, no matter how many times people try to share it with me after I've completed it.

In other words, people grouping up and sharing dailies is done in order that people can do more than the one daily they could otherwise pick up from the bounty boards.

How is this a scam? Basically you're getting a free daily box and an extra quest for your achievement.

Maybe check if the person asking to group is the person that offered the WB quest share before accepting it? There is no scam here, just people inviting the wrong person because the zone chat scrolls by too fast. Happens to me (when I'm being nice and sharing quests) all the time.

People share other quests as a little troll as well, but no, not a scam. Players need to be near each other and grouped to be able to get credit for the quest.

It's a grouping and a proximity thing, at least for the final part. You can sometimes do the preemptive stuff (go get this, go kill that) separately and get group credit, but for the big part, you always have to be there.
