    ESO died in the opening cinematic when Mannimarco sacrificed its soul to Molag Bal to fuel the Planemeld.

    Everything since has been the game recruiting 10 million players to fight the Planemeld and get its soul back.

    People that PvE here are just nerds avoiding hard drugs. This was PvP orientated game. It became a game for traders.

    I get what your trying to say. Dead as in taking the game to the next level. This is the best its gonna get. Maybe some balancing, a new zone, class, mode etc.. but this is as top end as its gonna be. At this point ZoS is more about cashing in then recodding their entire game to a more perfect game.

    Its an great game that has a ton of content and a decent amount of players but its not committed to 1 playstyle and therefore is lacking in every playstyle.

    Its not at all a competitive pvp game or even semi compeitive. Even though the doors were removed from towers, most competitive groups find other ways to pvdoor and thats the best its gotten. The rewards for actual pvp are not very incentivicing soo usually people just farm AP. Cyrodil is stale, battlegrounds was not well thought out, dueling is neat but most duels never end, sewers was destroyed by zenimax to keep people in cyrodil.

    Its not a very competitive pve game either. For compeitive raid groups its not about completing a trial but its about completing it with an extremely high score. Also the rewards are only mildy incentivicing. Yeah theres hardmode but very few easter eggs and suprises.

    Its not really a role-playing game either. Sure you can create a character and play barbies with it but your not creating a house (just furnishing it), the in game choices and sim life are nearly non existant.

    Its not really a game about exploration either. Yes each zone is blank until you discover areas and there are a few hidden trophies but its at best a novie exploring game.

    Crafting, lock picking, finding a guild, joining (dark brotherhood/thieves guild/fighters guild/mages guild etc..) enchanting, werewolf/vamp, potions, food, swiming, fishing, buying/selling all very poorly done.

    Pros- Beautiful graphics, a giant map, tons of quest (even if they are pretty repetitive), lore, custimization and a fighting system that is pretty decent. its a novice game at everything and a master to none.

    So yes ESO is dead but will continue linger until elder scrolls 6 comes out or some other game dethrones it.

    PvP oriented game? With just Cyrodiil? Have you timed how long it takes to finish from your starting zone through Cadwell's Gold? And before most players could finish Gold, they released Lower Craglorn.

    No, you played the game with a PvP orientation. That is what the game was to you. Stop projecting onto the game.

    Sure, they wanted to encourage everyone to go to Cyrodiil. What was the main motivation for most of us to go to Cyrodiil? To maintain Cyrodiil campaign buffs while doing PvE.

    If it was a PvP oriented game there wouldn't have been only one zone in which to PvP. You would have been able to fight everywhere.

    been here since start and never seen the game more alive than it is now! Yes we have bugs but that will get it sorted . So if this is heaven then I am staying:)

    No ***, but that doesn't mean the game wasn't nearly dead in 2014 (15,000 concurrent Steam players today compared to 500 at its low point in 2014). It was a huge critical and commercial flop at the time. It took a series of massive changes to save it.

    OP is yearning for a game that almost died. There would be no ESO today if ZOS didn't change it for the better.

    Marvel Strike Force passed 12 million already and it's only been out for three months. Somehow I don't feel that those numbers indicate much other than curiosity about an Elder Scrolls title.

    Marvel Strike Force is a F2P mobile game...

    And as dead as ESO given the quit rate. ESO's slower playerbase creep comes with its pay wall yet both experience the same illusory player count and high turnover rate.
