Dolmen drops for a noob Magblade

londonvictoria
Hey. I'm level 25, and my jewellery was all level 4. I just wasn't finding any anywhere. Then I heard that dolmens drop jewellery, and lo and behold, they do! And other shiny stuff too...

I'm not the grinding type, as I'm enjoying leisurely questing, doing the writs etc. But I had a little go around the Alik'r dolmens, and it was actually quite fun joining in the chase from one to the other for half an hour (yeah, I know some of you do it for hours!)

Thing is, the stuff they dropped wasn't really the right stuff for me. I want magicka enhancing stuff I think. (Or should I get health/stamina to counteract my weakness in those areas... hadn't thought of that until now!)

So I'm wondering, if I were to bother putting in an hour or so grinding some dolmens to get some stuff that would suit me - what land would be best to head to for that?

Or failing that, what lands/bosses/delves are the best place to head to look for sets that would suit a magblade?

Thanks in advance!

All dolmen have a chance to drop a health, stamina or magicka set jewelry. So it doesn't matter in which zone you do them (if you don't care about the set bonus that is). Seems like you just were a bit unlucky so far :)

Deshaan is a good place to go, but personally I wouldn't bother yet. You're gonna out grow your gear pretty quickly.

Doing the main quest line should give you 2 decent rings (iirc) in a relatively short amount of time, unless those are what you have already. You would also pick up a few additional skill points as well.

    Spinners works too for magblades.

I second the spinners set in Malabal Tor. I find the Black Vine Ruins and the Dolmen right next to the door convenient if you want to do a quick 1 -2 for gear.

Elegance, in Auridon. Fast dolmen grinding, as wayshrines are near dolmens and set is decent
    NB enthusiastic:

Not sure if still possible, but you did used to be able to buy simple blue magika rings from the mages guild. These aren't part of a set though.
And just stick a cheap white enchant on them from the enchanting store.

This is the set I use when levelling low level magika chars: - Found in Dolmens in Auridon (and Treasure chests)
    https://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Queen's+Elegance+Set

Depending on how much gold you have - And if you are on PC platform.
You could also check out: https://eu.tamrieltradecentre.com
And search for any overland drop set - or Willpower, at your level range.

You also have a chance at getting Willpower jewellery from doing random group dungeons.
Not sure what the drop-rate is, but its also a great way to level up and get accustomed to group play.
As far as I know, the reward drop from Random dungeon finder is always a weapon or piece of jewellery from 3 sets - Willpower (Magika), Agility (Stamina) Endurance (Health).
    All 3 sets have a 2 + 3 piece item bonus.

Well this was the thing - I hadn't found ANY jewellery since level 4...

Yes I think I have them, they're just such a low level I'm guessing I could get better now.

Or is it the case that someone could somehow improve their level with crafting?

I thought I might be a bit too low level to group with in dungeons?

No, if you have them the level can't be raised, as far as I know. I'm going from memory, but I believe you get a set when you leave the wailing prison, they're junk. You get one from the prophet soon after and it's magicka based and another magicka based ring a few quests later.

It sounds like the RNG gods just weren't kind to you as far as dolmens go.

I see low level players in normals quite a bit.

You can group from level 10, or maybe it's 15....it's been a while since I levelled a new one.
But you are definitely high enough level now to join.

Just click into the grouping tab, and find the option to join a random normal dungeon.
The first one you do each day will give you a huge chunk of XP, level up the skills on your bar, and give you some purle grade loot on completion along with a couple hundred gold.

You can do further random dungeons after that, they do exactly the same just offer less XP and Blue quality items.

Make sure to check yourself as the DPS / Damage role. If that is the role you want to fill.
As a Damage dealer, there may be a little wait time to get a group. But you can do questing etc as you wait.
    Good Luck :)

Wait till you reach cp160. Then decon those cp160 items, you will reach 50 at crafting lines in no time.

Basically, just hit the dolmens for the zone you are in a few times until you get the magic jewelry
Then hit a couple of delves for the small armor pieces and woila, you have a 5 piece set. Do your questing or other things in the zone you are in. Repeat this for the next zone you go to.

Since you can wear two 5 piece sets, and a 2 piece, you can collect quite the array of gear as you go along. Which is good as some gear will be be better for how you play than other gear. So when you get to.CP160, you will know what kinds of sets to focus on farming.

    Enjoy the journey.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Thanks, that's good advice. I'm working my way around auridon now, questing and looting. The dolmens are a bit of a buzz for a noob like me :)

This, you want magic jewelry preferably in an set because of bonuses.
    Deconstruct anything else.
Use crafted training sets, an friendly guild tent to make them for free for new players.
At cp160 you start thinking about sets for long term use.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
