We are currently investigating issues some players are having logging into the European PC/Mac megaserver. We will update as new information becomes available.

That's it? [Summerset spoiler]

The story is Okay for me, but...
Nocturnal beats Mephala? Forget Clavicus, but Mephala?
The Master of Intrigue, Whisperer, Ebony Blade ruler, Webspinner... was fooled by stupid crow-calling wretch?
I do not care about Meridia and her "champion" (what was his name again?) from least interesting alliance questline (DC plot is trash).
    But...
And they place Mephala statue in physical collector's edition.
Successful trolls are successful. ZOS are.

too be fair, its reasonable to assume as she was the first daedric prince that she would have a few tricks up her sleave, being the mother of shadow and guile it wouldn't exactly be difficult at all for her too pull one over on the other princes especially considering they were preoccupied. Hell she probably foresaw it coming. Insight isn't always immediate for daedric princes they choke on their own egos just like men and mer and so while they see many paths and many potentialities and plans unfold it isn't always true that that they know all paths i.e mephala may of seen many potential betrayals but was not ready for this particular one and thus wasn't prepared for it. After all you cannot prepare for everything and lets be real here nearly all daedric princes are deceptive on many many levels some tell half truths others tell full blown lies.

I am aware that mephala came before nocturnal generally speaking but nocturnal was the first too inhabit oblivion which is supposed to be the creation of sithis (for whatever reason) perhaps there was a bargain there who knows.

Was wondering when something like this was going to pop up. I don't really agree with the OP's sentiments, but I do genuinely wonder, what now?

This storyline has been long in the works, every DLC we have been fed pieces of information and teasers and it all leads to this point. And now we're done with it. From what I could tell, there weren't any teasers towards future content at the end of Summerset. Only the 'goodbye' book from Darien.

Don't really know what to expect for future DLC as far as a main story goes now.

It's literally one of the greatest questlines in the Elder Scrolls history.

    And it's only the beggining.

BTW Three Banners War ends during Summerset (It's mentioned in the main quest).

Nocturnal is gone but that's definitely not the end. Tamriel is ruined because of her.

Is this why ZOS have abandoned supporting/fixing PVP in Cyrodiil?

Just a poor healer from Glenumbra..

The main storyline of SI isn't very breathtaking, agreed.
There are some storyloopholes (particularly concerning Darius and his story), agreed.
The only good thing is that its really short (most of the time you only travel to talk to travel some more ... and talk again, a little searching and 3-4 fights... )

On the other hand: Imo SI sidequests are amazing, engaging and make up for alot.

FFXIV has a story? Sorry, I was too distracted by the constant rotation and turn taking to attack anything, that and the incoherent dialogue.
ESO has plenty of positive features but the story isn't one of them IMO.

I go to FFXIV if I want story.

Tbh, tis was the first time i was completely lost on the story. Maybe u guys can help?

Warning: If u do not want to spoil the whole story, rewritten by a drunken monkey, dont click on the spoiler!
I learned Summersets borders were sealed (why and how, its an island?) and r now opening up (again, why?)

I met agent awesome-kitty and he is investigating strange sushi washing up on the shores. (why does noone suspect well "opening the boarders", dc or ep to be the reason?)

Okay i could shrug that off as a lore explaination why player characters couldnt travel there before, but well, now the good stuff starts.

i meet a psijic mage and psijic stadards r low enough to recruit the next best random bystander (good for me!). It turns out millenia ago some guy with terrible memorie leaks fought a gungan seasload and was convinced to have won the fight. Actually he was put under a mindspell that led him to believe he won, while he was a mindcontrolled puppet of said seasload.
The sload managed to trick him into removing an artifact from a superimportant tower and hide it in a place, the sload didnt not want to know where it is. (whaat?) And he himself forgot aswell.
For some reason, on a whim, he decided to teleport arteaum out of existance and again fails to remember the true reasons. (cant expect much of a guy insiting to call me "friend of valsirenn" i guess).

On another whim he decided to bring artaeum back because sushi shows up on summersets coasts. but wait! didnt sushi show up, cause he brought artaeum back? (i got a headache on that one)

Moving on our clanky lizard monster friend-of-valsirenn ventures into a trap. for memory leak guy. K'Tora (a thousand years ago and he still remembers his name!) is waiting there and tries to extract the hidingplace from his mind, that is no longer present, because someone forgot it!

It was a real surprise that the clockwork nerd decides to teleport in, for no other reason than to tell me to go back to cephora tower??? Its very nice but, i was on my way there anyways. For an supposed to be allknowing being, he seems to be disturbingly oblivious to the whole situation. Why did he come in the first place, if he had no clue what was going on? Is he doing errant boy dailies for the psijics to farm reputation? "Find Friend-of-Valsirenn and tell her to come back to Cephora Tower" - 8k XP, 300 Gold? That might be a bit annoying to do with all the friends-of-valsirenn currently populating the area.

We r making progress as our great leader of the psijic now slowly starts to remember that he forgot something important, on purpose.

At that point, we should have let the past be the past, whipe out the remaining seatoads and celebrate by doing an investigator vale with reappeared beefcake buddy and agent awesome-kitty (it is pegi 18, right?). But no, lets poke around in stuff that should have been left unpoked.

I venture on and "discover", that all those millenia ago, Jet Li Nocturnal helped the wrongmaster to hide the relic (that she wanted all that time to become "The One") within him and also helped him to forget about that (i doubt she actually had to anything for that) and now, she rips it out by force and takes it for herself. (which was her plan all along??)
For unknown reasons, the poor ritemaster does not survive that process, where u would think that putting that uncomfy looking crystal into the place where the sun never shines would be the harder part.

At that point, there is only two logical explainations left for me:
    1) I somehow missed half the story and the few crumbs i got dont make sense anymore.
    2) I never escaped the mindtrap during the tutorial (that i only got to see on pts) and the "plotholes" is my mind trying to fight back and return to reality.

I got some minor headaches and somehow felt like i skipped all the dialogues (which i didnt, on purpose!), but i was entertained.

The plot is a fustercluck of people double crossing each other.

Originally, Ktora and the 3 Daedric princes are working together, so K'torra makes Iachesis hide the Heart to retrieve later for the Princes.

Only Iachesis does too good of a job, foiling K'tora's plan to steal the heart for himself later. Iachesis actually makes a bargain with Nocturnal instead (who pulls memory shenanigans with the Grey Fox in Oblivion, so memory is sort of her thing) and Nocturnal sees the chance to pull one over on her fellow Daedric princes as well.

So Mephala and Clavicus Vile lose their tug-of-war to Nocturnal, who's like "The Heart's mine, guys!"

That Heart powers the protections on the Tower, which is whole reason the Sea Sload's are able to invade Summerset, plus many other bad things will result, even before Nocturnal decide to make herself more powerful than anything else in the cosmos by using the Tower.

Only thing is, thanks to the plot of Clockwork City, Nocturnal has to take control of Crystal Tower the hard way
the Vestige, Divayth Fyr, and Sotha Sil prevented her from regaining her Skeleton Key, which she could ha e used to just unlock the Tower and WIN.
and so the hero has time to go around and make semi-allies with Mephala and Clavicus Vile.

And then the hero makes it into the tower and kicks Nocturnal's champion's butt, and sticks the heart back where it belongs, ending the schemes of daedra and sea sloads alike. Well, as long as you dont mind shutting down geysers :)

The plot is perhaps excessively complex and suffers from some pacing issues and from crucial information only revealed right before the final act. Along with the Psijic Order getting played, hard. But I think it carries off its twists reasonably well.

There is a very big loophole left however
If nocturnal wanted nothing but the crystal, why didn't she just plot to take it? She knew where it was the whole time. There was no need to try taking over CWC and make a complicated mess ... all she needed to do was lure the ritemaster out of arteum. Beeing the daedra of nightmares (i.e. has a good link to every sleeping beeings unconcious mind) we can safely assume its done more difficult things then drive a man out of his home.

She needed to go to CWC to steal Sotha Sil's knowledge on converting Life essence into energy to break thru the Crystal Tower's defenses (this part is actually explained in the story)

The issue arises when the Runemaster goes to her realm and makes a bargain with Nocturnal to forget where he hid the crystal. Nocturnal NEEDS this Crystal to go thru with her plan, she knew he had it because her crows had seen him with it. She could have DEMOLISHED the Runemaster, took the stone and have succeeded her plan in its entirety but instead agreeded to help the Runemaster hide it and waited until the stones location is revealed to EVERYONE to make her move when she could have done it ages ago.

That plot hole is so massive its mind boggling.

Also, Vaermina is Daedric Prince of Nightmares, not Nocturnal.

@VaranisArano First, I take my hat off for your drunken monkey language skills. :p

I suspect the reason she doesn't grab the Heart right away is
    1. She can't grab it right away when Iachesis first makes the bargai because all the pieces aren't in place.
    2. The Ritemaster removes Artaeum from Nirn, which takes him out of the Sload influence (until we bring an Abyssal pearl there) and probably removes him from Nocturnal's direct influence (until he walks into Evergloam). So its a "nice job breaking it, hero" plot all around.
    3. As for why she doesn't grab it from him the second Iachesis goes into Evergloam, I have no idea, except that it would be an interesting story telling choice because the player would have no clue what was happening.

At least, that's my best guess as to why that plot hole happens.
