Do you think it is time for aura effects to be added to the outfit/costumes?

Simple case in point is to be able to put certain auras on each piece of an outfit or maybe just a subsection of a part of it all.

Game is getting too flashy, no need to put in some more effects.

When you say auras...? I suggested skins and textures like volcanic, storm and ice on another thread. Do you mean like that or something else?

It would be cool, but for one the game is laggy enough without everyone running around in auras. Unless they add a toggle option to turn off other players effects.

Also, why give them something else to lock behind crown crates? You want to spend $100-$1000 trying to get one?

Nah, keep auras in Destiny 2. I think we can make our characters flashy enough as it is.

I say auras so it could be beyond just elemental sorts, like mist or various other things.

I honestly wouldn't mind it. They could do it, it's just with the already laggy servers and bad code, I could see them breaking the game.

Mostly though, I'm getting tired of all the nice things being locked behind the crown store or worse, crown crates. More base game things are needed for casual players, not just vet HM players.

ZOS will undoubtedly make 98% of all auras crown store only. Given their current pricing scheme, they won't be cheap either.

    **** NO.

Game already has too much flash and glow. It's honestly pretty unappealing the visual direction ESO is taking.

I'd like to see special effects added just for weapons in place of the current dyes. Would love to have a big flaming sword.

Get used to it. It's a world of magic and fantasy. Before you say the single player games weren't flashy, really think about that.

    Morrowind all enchanted items glowed.

Oblivion DLC for horse armor, some flashy.

    Skyrim had Arvak.

This is just one example for each in the last 3 games. Its part of the world and lore. Plus it brings money in so... prepare yourselves for future content.

Still, those which you listed are pretty rare occurrences in the TES world. Not everyone is running around with those magical, enchanted and all glowy-stuff. Calling it "world of magic and fantasy" isn't a free-pass for smashing glowy and flashy effects on everything. Even that world should have limits.

Right, it's limited to your character for the most part. However in Morrowind any enchanted item on any NPC would glow.

In ESO there isn't your one character, it is full of special people according to this time line. Or we're not really all there? That part is confusing with vestiges, but still, the point remains the same. I'm not saying there isn't a point they could cross to make it too flashy, but so far I think they have done a fair job. Just wish more were released outside of crown purchases.

Because you will end up having a clown show which reminds you of a cheap korean MMO. Look at GW2, utter circus with "cute" dresses, auras and wings. If you want to have a cheap-looking artstyle, keep slamming on effects and overdesign trivial stuff.

To be honest even the Ilambris Crown stuff and the crafting hammer are pretty "red-flaggish"

Has nothing to do with that, but if that's how you classify it then you're in for a rude awakening.

Auras are already in game via crown crates. They're momentos currently that only last for a minute or so, but how long do you think before they continue down this path? Look at the mounts. Look at the special weapons with effects. Look at a lot of the spells and abilities already being spammed. Look at the new Psijic Gauntlets. The new monster weapon sets. The list goes on and on.

Point being, they will only continue to release new items with new special effects as long as people continue paying for them. Your worst nightmares could potentially come true in a year or two.

And that will be the point where ESO will bleed out players, just like GW2 which went the same route.

The auras on mounts are already ugly enough. At least I don't have to see the tacky mounts in most dungeons. Don't need to see that crap on players themselves.
