So which set is better for a stamina NB? 400 physical weapon damage or 299 weapon damage.

Since all your damage is going to be physical as a stamblade, 400 physical weapon damage is better.

Hundings if you need more crit. Automatons if you need more weapon damage.

Incap, killers blade, and bow procs are disease damage. Poison injection is of course poison.

Hundings on a stam blade. Way too much of your damage comes from skills that won't be effected by Automaton. Automaton is good on stamplars and stam sorcs.

Hundings rage benefits from major brutality, agility passive and similar buffs. I don't think the automaton set benefits of those bonuses.

if you add the +20% weapon dmg from major brutality and the +12% from agility, your 300 weapon dmg from Hundings rage should increase to 403.2.

Automaton does benefit from major brutality.

OP, as stated, some of a NB's key skills are not physical.

Also, you have to consider that automaton doesn't apply to healing while hundings does. So you lose 161 wd (before brutality which would make it 200) towards your heals which on a stamblade, is not great anyway.

You also have a passive which amplifies crit damage, so that extra line of crit can be pretty nice.

I assume you mean PvP. If pve then 100% hundings over automaton on any class. There are other sets which will increase your dps even further though.

Automaton does in fact benefit from percentage buffs like Major Brutality.

Nonetheless, Hunding's is still preferred on a stamblade since ~30% of your damage will not be physical (Killer's Blade, Spectral Bow, Incap, Poison Injection, Poison enchant, Velidreth if you're using it, etc.)

Ultimately Advancing Yokeda, Ravager, and perhaps even Leviathan would be preferable to either ... but in this case, definitely Hunding's over Automaton.

For PvE, Automaton > Hundings on stam sorc and stamplar. Although if you use the atro ult it seems to be a wash on stam sorc.

Roughly the same WD as Hundings, but rather then the crit you get 130 stamina regen. In PvP its better.

Meh. I wouldn't use any of them in PvP tbh.

I’ve just recently tested all combinations as a stam sorc for spriggans, Hundings, nmg and automatons. Found spriggans and hundings to be the best combination, on paper automatons should have been better but was losing about 2k damage from somewhere.

I've tested Hunding's vs. Automaton and found that Automaton pulls ahead slightly unless you run storm atro for your ult, in that case it's a wash. This was last patch so some things could've changed.

Not sure why Spriggans would pull ahead of NMG solo. NMG gives more penetration and can be kept up nearly 100% even on your front bar. So it would naturally be a better set to pair with Hunding's and Automaton as they are better suited to be used on both bars.

    PvE or PvP?

PvE: Automaton is better, but the difference is small (I'd say around 500dps, not worth the grind imho).

PvP: Hundings will provide you more healing, and Automaton more damage, you'd have to decide which one you need the most atm.

I'd like to see some CMX parses of these tests because the results are the opposite of mine.

Automaton + NMG should come out on top.

I’m curious about this too. I’d love to try a build focused on the Imbue Weapon skill from the Psijic tree (Crushing Weapon morph, which adds a bunch of physical damage to the next light attack you deal). I assume this skill morph would benefit from Automaton? But do light attacks benefit from Automaton too? Because light attacks would definitely benefit from Hunding’s, as would this skill’s bonus damage, but maybe Automaton still pulls ahead slightly even if it doesn’t affect light attacks? But only if I can use that skill constantly for every single light attack..?

It’s an RP build, Redguard Swordsinger. Will be focusing on light attacks imbued with this skill, and pairing either Automaton or Hunding’s with Morkuldin, for the magic floaty sword awesomeness which should fit the theme of a spiritual master warrior. Or the other option is Queen’s Elegance for the 20% light attack boost but... then Imbue Weapon definitely doesn’t benefit, so I don’t know how that would balance out. Plus it adds Magicka and I'm focusing on Stamina...

Do not us Automaton set on a stamina "nightblade".
