It is causing Havok in guild trading spots NA PC. There is an all out trading war apparently, for guild spots in popular spots and it's getting ugly. With some unscrupulous people trading gold for crowns, people have amassed in game fortunes, Trading guilds that have been around for a while have had to raise raffle and selling amount fees twice as much as they use to be, to remain competitive. Yes or no would suffice instead of an obfuscated non-answer

Enough to bring a tear to a glass eye. How dare other scrub guilds treat the older established guilds in such a manner.

You can take that to the Guild bank.

Wait. Popular guilds, which are notoriously well known for price fixing, harassing other guilds for under cutting prices, and literally create bogus accounts as ghost traders in order to secure popular trade spots are calling people selling gold for Crowns unscrupulous?

Thank you for a well deserved and hearty laugh, my friend.

Poetic justice or karma. Either works for me.

Yeah, some guilds/people seem to think they're entitled to have a monopoly on in game trading spots. They haven't ever gave a *** about others, yet as soon as the goal posts get shifted, they're the first ones to start the real salt fest. Long may it continue.

Is trading actually this serious in an MMO? I can see the point in competing for a large amount of the trade, that just comes with any market. But, the above comments regarding seedy behaviour such as ghost trading, harassment, etc. Is it really that bad if you take trading that serious?

When you think about it, if bigger guilds suffers from increased bids, what does it mean for smaller guilds?
If trade guilds are forced to increase their bids even higher, guess which trade guilds suffers most?
Sorry to say, but this does not play in favor of smaller guilds either.

Competition is good. Seems it's the larger and more established guilds who are suffering. Ironic that the word "unscrupulous" was mentioned in the OP when describing these smaller guilds. Not suggesting for a minute all large established guilds have a murky past, but there is a good few number of them on all platforms. They're usually the ones who cry the loudest when others start to make some headway.

Competition around markets is healthy, that's right.
However bigger trade guilds got higher tax income from sales, which plays a part of trader bids, which decreases the need of using reserve gold for trader bids. However smaller guilds do not have same tax flow, which leads to the point when reserve gold will be used for compensation more often, which might also lead to the point, when smaller guild owners might need to open wallet more often, if they want to compete with bigger guilds with insane bids. ;)

Omg at the “poor top guilds” comments. I know for a fact that at least three of the Mournhold Mafia GMs and officers are sitting on hundreds of millions of gold each. Anything to drain their coffers and fill others’ while circumventing their oligarchy can only benefit the game.

How do you trade gold for crowns? Is it like a million gold for 100 crowns? If so how do you transfer crowns? I thought they only work for your account only when you buy them on what ever platform you are on.

You are actually gifting items purchased with crowns in the store. Then you have to trust people to give you the gold for that Item.

You don't directly. You trade it for items purchased for Crowns, which has already been deemed acceptable.
To clarify, trading an in-game item for other in-game items is allowed; trading in-game items for real-world money or other out-of-game items is strictly prohibited.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

yeah me too, ive been stocking up on previous ones this way just asking in zone chat starting with whatever reasonably high amount i have in my account, if i get ridiculed and someone says "i wouldn't do it for any less then ____" I whisper asking if they'd be willing to and saying id be a while trying to earn the rest but id be happy to. works fairly well for me, though if there's an easier way that would be nice. im on PC NA

They really should add crowns to the trade dialog if they want this to be a thing since right now there is no platform to facilitate it. For what it is worth, I am for it as I have a whole pile of gold with little to spend it on.

Also, in game items have been ruled numerous times by the courts to be property of their owners and subject to all rights and privileges under the law that all property is. It is, in fact, quite illegal to forbid the selling of such under EULA's and has been ruled so many times. ZOS and other companies just choose to ignore such law as they can pretty much get away with it being large corporations with bands of lawyers and existing in the very corporate friendly U.S. law system.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.
