I used to make alts to handle storage issues. Then it was to play different roles. Then it was to maximize gain during events. Then it was to maximize gain from crafting writs. Then it was just for fun. Then it was to sample the new Warden class. Then I realized I had too many alts and deleted them all. Then there was an event and I was sorry I deleted them and made a bunch more alts to maximize rewards. Then the event ended and I decided I would never level them so I deleted them again. I'm fine. It's just this game. It makes me crazy!

Just over 200 cps on my main account, none yet on my second account.

Having played MMOs since 1998, and ESO since launch, I have yet to find one where the high levels are more fun than the low-middle levels, let alone one where even after 10 years or more I have hit the level cap.

Or indeed one on which I have ever burnt out. I'd far rather repeat the journey than hit the buffers at the destination.

20 characters, 15 on the NA server and 5 on EU. Basically, the EU characters were just so I could try out different character types I had in my head and wanted to bring to life. My only Orc female is on EU, although I like her so much that I wish I could bring her over to NA without deleting anybody else.

Of my 20, I have one that's specifically for PvP, one that's specifically for tanking dungeons, three healers and three DPS. Mag and stam versions of every class, and one of every race except for Imperial.

Yeah, I can quit any time I want. I can quit tomorrow if I wanted to ... only I don't want to.

I couldn't even begin to guess how many toons I have made since launch. Well ok ill guess, somewhere between 40-60.

Yeah, just one account. Most of them are due to me running a guild for new players back when Kyne was Blackwater Blade. (the glory days) Honestly it could be more than what I think.

I feel like alt is a bad word. I love them all equally. Even my thief who will only ever do thief and dB.

I see people here with multiple accounts, filled to the brim. Seriously, I don't understand how they have so much energy to play the game so much. I already play as much as I can and there's still plenty of things I could do on my only account. At the end of the day I see it's 2 a.m. and I have to get up at 7:45 and go to work next day. Overall it's gratifying but some days it drives me close to exhaustion even with a daily intake of up to 2L of coffee. And I'm really serious about squeezing as many activities as I can into my limited play time and once I start playing I only stop for brief periods. For example I've minimized my writ time to under an hour by optimizing loading times for characters - a less crowded area, the minimum of addons loaded, and also the game moved to SSD, which was a general performance boost across the board. But that's like the appetizer, a thing I do at the start of my play session, while winding down after work, reading guild MOTDs, chatting with people on Discord etc. After that I run guild trials, pledges when there's no trial, or PvP, with an even mix of BGs and Cyrodiil lately; if a new DLC is up I also run the dailies for a few weeks to get motifs, after which I buy what I'm missing.

When I have the spare time I also play catch-up on skill points for some of my characters. That's the reason I have only 6 active although I've been playing for almost 3 years, I simply didn't have the time to get enough skill points of them, since I prefer them to have pretty much all functionality available. That means enough to fully spec crafting, and have at least on PvP spec, and multiple PvE specs covering at least 2 roles, sometimes all 3. For more efficiency I only play no-CP PvP, since I can keep my CP spent as for PvE, and only change gear & skills (mapped by addon), mundus and consumables. Had I made them "cookie cutters" I would have probably had more, but with less functionality. I find the former much more efficient since I only level once, train horses once, level skill lines and skill once. Then I can simply reset at the end of the leveling process, spec the essentials and then go on filling skills as needed when I gain the necessary skill points. It takes me a couple of months to fully ready a character for end game, considering it's more of a background process with lower priority than the recurring ones. I only level characters in batches during double XP events since it's more efficient time wise. I've done 2 in October last year (both already promoted), 4 in December and another 4 in April this year, and I'll do the 15th in October. By that time it would have riding fully trained. I have pretty much the big outlines for the next 2 years set out, with the finer details plotted 3-4 months ahead.
