LAGGGG..ever since the summerset update i have noticed an increase in lag and stutters.

I am on ps4 NA server.

Before Summerset I had minimal to no issues with lag, long loading screens once in a blue moon yes but lag no.

Since Summer set update

- Almost everytime i travel to somewhere (fast travel or wayshrines) 9/10 times its either super laggy once ive landed and take off, to the point where i wait 1 - 5 minutes stuck on a frozen screen before my player wakes up from his lag induced coma and/or i get the message while travelling from place to place (the loading screen) saying this is an unsually long loading time.
- Im also noticing, mainly during peak hours that there are a lot of stutters happening.. where im walking/running or riding around and the game "stutters" where it doesn't completely lag but my toon will instant transmission (for all you dbz fans out there) from where he was to 50 ft in front in an instant, this has happened during wb fights, node farms and other times as well.. point is VERY FRUSTRATING !!

ZOS... please fix servers.... and soon, i love this game but it is becomming tiresome and making me want to not play the game...

The problem is PS4 is old hardware now. You can't upgrade like PC to compensate for their increased system requirements.
They also have more players than ever really.

This is one reason Sony released the PS4 Pro and there are rumors of PS5 now.

    I would disagree with that.

I could understand that if the system requirements were actually the reason for the lag/stutters... i say that for a number of reasons i can think of on the spot...

    Reason 1
I play a range of other online multiplayer games some mmo some not, that have higher requirments to play their games and thus far no issues because my system was out of date or lacking requirements...bf1, call of duty games, destiny, terra, ffxiv just to name a few games.

    Reason 2
If it was system requirement causing the issues, i would think that would put ZOS in some pretty hot water for releasing content that customers pay for that is unplayable due to system requirements.

    Reason 3
if it was only reported on as an issue on ps4 and not every other playable platform i would consider maybe somehting was wrong with my system...

    1) "Stutters" = definitely graphics issues which are hardware problems, even if because of software

    2) Destiny, Terra, FFXIV, all older games and arguably less popular than ESO right now. They will run better. They also have better code actually especially for the network. ESO is not very efficient. Just look at the game storage requirements.

    3) You're not the first, nor the last, to report issues on any console with this game. Xbox One and PS4 both have major issues with this game. Most of which is due to the hardware being old and the rest is due to the game running very inefficiently with that hardware.
Sure, it can play well optimized games on those consoles, but this game is not very well optimized compared to those others.

Just look at any other posts about console performance. You don't see PC players complaining much because the issues they see are remedied by upgrades most of the time. When the PC players do complain it is because of something clearly broken and/or affecting all platforms.

    Edit:
Essentially, you're asking them to rewrite the entire base engine of the game to fix this because that is what that would take. No game developer is likely to do that unless they make a sequel to the game, like Destiny 2 or FFXIV A Realm Reborn(which pretty much wiped everything).
Destiny and Destiny2, fyi, were made with consoles in mind from the start. ESO originally was PC only and thus had not been tested on consoles when it really needed to be, before launch set a lot of things in stone. The fast synchronized update pace also makes that impossible to do now as well as the fact that they will not take it down for a long period to fix these things now that it has been released. FFXIV did it shortly after release and because they had the money and will to do so. ESO developers likely wouldn't ever do this.
