Since I do just about everything solo or minor PvE, I am getting really, really tired of the weenies characters are. Oooo! MagPlar! Cool! Yeah, right, you can stay alive and heal, but you have no AoE and it takes 10 hits to kill anything and God forbid you end up with more than 2 or three enemies. Wouldn't even want to think about PvP. And before you start saying LTP, gee, it's funny, but apparently I'm good enough for others to follow me around and want to group so I can't be that bad.
Forget that guff. Back to stamblade and always in the shadow for sniping and backstabbing. You people who want that other stuff can have it.

So say you've entered an Oblivion gate as a level 27 MagPlar. Okay, a dremora, no problem. Then 3 dremora, then 2 more and then an Ancient Clannfear before you can destroy the sigil stone.
What do you do smarty pants? Are you so AWESOME that you can handle 5 dremora and a Clannfear at the same time? I would like to see it.
Sure, overland is a piece of cake on my high level sorcerer, but low levels are weenies.

✭✭✭✭✭So I too struggled with my magplar. Its probably the class I like the least as an overland quester -fine for healer, but the worst class I ever leveled.
I recommend equipping a destro staff and using wall of elements as your AOE, until the spear shards aoe is unlocked, and then use both.
Honestly, leveling gets a lot easier once I use wall of elements for magicka characters and endless hail for stamina. The public dungeon in Summerset was a pain on a leveling magblade, but wall of elements made the mob packs much easier than otherwise.2 -

✭✭✭✭This is the only time I've ever said this but it appears to be a L2P issue. I main a magplar and have not met the mob that I can't wipe out. Blazing spears and blockade and then puncturing sweeps them to the finish. First block the clannfears so they don't knock you down.PC/NA/EP ✌️12 -

✭Oh! I remember it well. That big ole crab in Stonefalls? Running in to assassin beetles at level 2. Yikes! I'm just venting. I'm having fun with Den, it just takes so long to get anything done. It got to the point where it was just easier to die and come back behind them to destroy the Sigil Stone than even attempt to fight them all (especially that dern Clannfear!). The Veiled Queen was a piece of cake compared to that. BTW: I loathe Clannfears. ✭Touche. I mean, I love Den since he's a big help in many situations in keeping folks healthy and giving backup, but, honestly, he's not my idea of an aggressive character. Very much support, which would be fine if I didn't mainly play solo. Fortunately I haven't the time or patience to get to end-game content again, so I suppose it really doesn't matter what I play. Besides, all the cursing at the screen is making my cat nervous.

Part of my problem is because I play solo.
Learning how to play this game against NPCs is like learning to drive from a Hot Wheels car.
There's just something missing in between.

As soon as I could, I started using wall of elementals, lightning splash and mages wrath as AOE and used food buffs + health potions.
The “weenie” is an architectural concept named such by Disney Imagineering in describing “visual magnets” that draw guests from one area to another (Sklar, 2013). In Disney parks, these are seen everywhere and on every scale. Magicka Templar AOE
Puncturing Sweeps (main spam-able, aoe and heal)
Ritual Of Retribution (AOE Dot and heal)
Blazing Spear (AOE Dot)
Reflective Light (hits 3 targets, DOT)
Solar Barage (AOE damage)
Since your magicka and should be using a destro staff...
Elemental Blockade (strongest AOE dot in the game)
Lighting Staff heavy attack is AOE too.

which game are you playing here?
my main crafter is a magplar... played it through cadwells gold without any problems...
what gear are you using, what attributes and what skills...
throw us a bone here and maybe someone can help.

✭Doing all those things, but they just don't do the damage I want. I don't want to be hitting things 5 or 10 times just to take them down. That's no fun. If I impale you on my blazing spear you should have more than 1/10th of your health gone. And I do use my staff most of the time since it's the only thing that truly seems to do anything except knockback.
And where do you people get this "spammable" thing? Nobody has that much magicka at level 27 and I understand you don't get more after level 50.
Like I said. I don't have a problem with 90% of it, it's just those few situations where I don't.
BTW: does Nova EVER hit anything? It never does for me.
