Pewter ore is where you'll find Chromium grains

600 is a very small sample size. You can't draw any conclusions from that, even if you actually bothered to compare it with something else. Even 1.5k of each pewter and platinum is way too little to draw any conclusion about the actual chances.

yes it does. refined 300 pewter and got 4 chromium grain, refined 600 platinum and got 1 chromium grain. this has happened to me since summerset dropped. pewter = chromium grains.

Hardly, the Inspiration bug was hands down a copy/paste oversight where a variable from enchanting was left in the newly created code and not overwritten to be unique to jewel crafting inspiration gains.

I have had the same experience. I have no specific numbers but I refined a few thousand platinum, got 4 chromium. I refined 600 pewter and got 11 chromium. There's no way that the drop rate isn't borked here.

It's honestly RNG imo and we have our good days and bad days in that regard. I refined a stack of just over 1k platinum ore and got 10 chromium grains. /shrug

Assuming it's not bugged, of course. That said, I seem to be getting a normal return off of platinum, so probably not bugged.

The hilarious thing about this, to me, is that 7k per Temper is the normal price on PC.

Your sample size is too small to get an accurate conclusion. I refined 40k pewter dust and I got around 200 chromium which seems to be in line with other professions.

"Cyrodiil is where you refine if you want to get Dreugh Wax" because I refined 150 scraps yesterday afternoon there and got 4 Dreugh Wax out of it, 3 of them in a row. Did I mention Shor, at Southern Morrowind gate? Don't go at the Eastern Elsweyr gate though, those good-for-nothing AD milkdrinker don't have RNGezus on their side

I refined 2.1k platinum dust and got 9 chromium grains.

There's no way I'm upgrading jewelry to gold anytime soon so I just use chromium grains to make money atm. I sold my first chromium plate for 120k so a gold upgrade would cost me between 800-960k, thats way too much for a tiny stat increase.

I am getting far more chromium grains from refining platinum dust than from pewter dust.
I guess it's just luck though.
