D**** D****** said "U are a ****ing no tank at all and u suck hell as a newbie go play minecraft and lick your mom;'s dirty ***".

Is this a normal interaction? Have I missed a language interpretation?

I saw that Drizzt had over 1000 cp, so an experienced player. As am I. But I have some moral sense. Is this the type of player I want my kids to play with?

No.

Please let me know what you think?

No, that's not a kind thing, however, you shoukd be aware that naming and shaming is not allowed on the forums. I suggest removing the name of the offending player from this report.

What you can do is report that player in game. Typically ZOS sends me a mail in reply thanking me for the report, and if I have further evidence such as a screenshot of the hate whisper, I'll attach that in reply.

You can also use the Ignore function to ensure that you don't have to receive any further abuse from that jerk.

For what it's worth, the Terms of Service state that a person must be at least 18 years old to play TESO. So don't worry about your kids being exposed to hate speech and obscene or profane language -- unless you allow them to play TESO on your adult account.

Note that ESC > Settings has a "Mature Content" filter which you can enable. It will substitue asterisks for the characters in certain words displayed in Chat, but I don't know whether it applies to e-mail messages, too. Often it censors the text in innocent messages, such as the word "assassin" which has "ass" repeated twice. What's wrong with the word "ass"? It is the English word for donkey. For example, Mary rode Joseph's ass all the way from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

Of course, it cannot censor VOIP communication utilities such as Discord, TeamSpeak, or Ventrilo. If memory serves, one or more of them has their own Parental Control filters.

LOL, my kids are 18 and 21. But I still think the same, There is bad language and bad language. It gets very extreme very quickly. Been playing for many years and occasionally see this and don't understand what drives the extreme behavior.

I could not work out how to edit my original post to remove the name, so name and shame was not intended, just to illustrate what was said and to really question the need.

At the top of your post, there should be a gear symbol for options, and one of those should let you edit the post.
