"Megaserver" in Latin America.

Any chance of Zenimax opening a LA server? It is very difficult to play with ping above 300, not infrequently passing 1000. Zenimax sells the game in Latin America, does not it? So put a server serving the region, or do not sell the game.
(Oh yeah, i know, it is the fault of the buyer, because do not have to buy it)

Do they have an Asia server? I'm sure there are more players in Asia than there are in LA.

I question how "mega" it would need to be. NA covers A LOT of people as does EU. Now, maybe if it was an LA/SA Mega it might be worth it to Zeni.

At this stage in the game Zos is probably not even slightly considering adding more servers.

Latin America encompasses a lot more than just Mexico. It also includes Central America, South America, the Carribean, etc.

And there's even another one to the South of that, although I can't picture there being too many players down there though the systems would run great and not need any cooling at all!

there is no Asia/Pacific server. a little bird once told me there was going to be a new server when they announced the official JP localization but the idea got scrapped IIRC

The NA server is in Texas, so it's not like it's coming half way around the world to get to LA as it is. I'm in LA with an av png of 120, so if yours is worse consistently, it's not necessarily ZoS.

Latinamerica is more than México and neighbors countries. Here in argentina we have an average ping of 250. And it's not ZOS fault, it's just because of the distance with the servers.

I think that this has been a safe statement for a couple of years now. If there was ever a time they stopped and considered it, it was when they rolled out the Japanese version.

The data farm might be in Dallas, but traffic gets routed up to Maryland to an anti-DDoS service and then back. So it might as well be half way around the world.

An Antarctica server would be a first for any game, though I don't see there being any real demand for one.

Out of curiosity, how common is it to play MMOs in Latin America. I hardly ever meet anyone from there online. There aren't that many guild adverts in zone chat in Spanish, whereas cyrillics really stand out (probably also because of the weird spacing). I'm asking because putting a server somewhere, say Colombia, wouldn't be a very good business case unless there are loads of players in that part of the world. BTW, no-one mentioned African megaserver - I wonder why not
