I had problems at first with Steam Sunday. I found a suggestion from Bethsaida
RESET THE PROGRAMDATA FOLDER
If playing on PC, you can also try resetting the ProgramData folder:
Close both ESO and the ESO Launcher.
Open the game's installation directory.
Open the folder named Launcher.
Inside the "Launcher" folder, there is a folder named "ProgramData".
Rename the "ProgramData" folder to "ProgramDataBackup".
Open the launcher "REPAIR" and download update.
Click Play.
That worked for Me and only took 30 mins. I been playing ever since no issues.
Yet I kept seeing people complaining about not being able to start game, not even replying to the suggestion I posted,
people just kept making increasing slanderous comments about service.
A person on Steam forums even went so far to start a campaign to get ESO a negative rating and dropped from Steam.
When I made the suggestion about trying what worked for me, I was told "I'm not trying that because the banner clearly say's ESO is currently working on The Fix with Steam"
Ok thats the long term fix, in the mean time they offered a temp solution allowing you to at least get in to the game, and play till the Final solution is offered.
I didn't notice anyone from The ESO Forum Moderators helping to explain this to people either. That might of helped resolve a lot of what has now become for some
an opportunity to divert new players from trying game, because so many people posting on internet all the negative things that really are untrue.
Every game keeps a folder on your computer with a clean file with no known issues in it.
That is the basic game file they draw upon when issues come up they use to get clean start point.

The fix is temporary till the Permanent update has been tested and offered.
It at least lets you into the game..
I am just curious if any one all besides Myself tried to use that solution and had as much SUCCESS a I did?
It sucks for all of Us if smear campaigns are circulated on the internet about a PRODUCT We have invested in, and The stuff is untrue.
I been playing everyday no issues.
