Are we having fun yet?

There is so much negativity on this forum at the moment (not that it's not deserved) that I thought I would ask who is having fun and why. Not everybody can be miserable. How about those of us who are having fun share some experiences that they've enjoyed recently.

Me:
Yesterday I was off to meet Ayrenn at Tanzelwil and I ran in to the three bears out near Phaer, or at least I assume they're the three bears (2 large, 1 small) just milling about under some trees across the river. The rendition was actually really great on them. The weird part is that, as I was watching, one of the larger ones started down to the river and the "POP" all three just disappeared from existence. I even crossed the river to investigate but they were nowhere to be found! So strange.

Another weird thing is, after getting rid of those cursed stones and defeating the bad guy at Tanzelwil, all those ghosts/spirits turn friendly, yes? So tell me, why Captain Henyon and her crew are still being all paranoid and crouching even after all is said and done?

Also, what's with Prince Naemon? I talked to him out there at Tanzelwil and then headed back to Vuhkel Guard and there he is in front of the Manor being his usual snobby self. Are there two of him? Did he steal the teleport spell from the Marine I saved later? What's going on? I'm so confused.

Any good stories on your side?

Got my first character to Level 50, recently hit CP 90. Trying to aim for 160 as soon as possible so I can grind out all my gear sets.

Also got my friend to play the game and he is really enjoying it, so thats rather nice too.

today i farmed.... nothing unusual in that. only i had to wear a costume to do it, but that's in another thread (pardon the unintentional pun). chased up some surveys.

had a great time, got a load of good stuff.

then went to summerset. did the usual thing of just wondering around looking at the landscape - it really is beautiful.

did some fishing, got a motif... already know it but that's ok, it'll sell.

few geysirs... some good stuff from those.

all in all an enjoyable day in tamriel

Actually I've been here since 2015. I guess I'm just not as picky or as entitled as some other players. I don't care about achievements or pointless skins or "winning at any cost". I play games to have a good time, not compete, not bully, not destroy, not anything but to have fun. Nothing more. I could care less about CP's or Veteran runs or group activities or having gazillions of gold or any of that. I just play to enjoy, to see all the wonderful sights, to occasionally help out someone in distress (like the poor player yesterday who was 1st attacked by 2 clannfear and then had two dremora come through the same gate and was losing badly - I kept them healed and dealt a little damage but let them do the fight), to run around and help out at a Dolman. It's just fun. It's just a game. Other than that, I really don't care and I'm having a blast on my latest set of characters. Sure FPS drops and the occasional freeze are irritating, but, so what? It's just a game and I just want to have fun and I wanted to see if anybody else was, despite all the toxic vitriol being spewed here.

There was a reason why I just kept playing w/out coming on to the forums and I am beginning to remember why.

I've been playing this game since beta and I still love it. Even when I've been loaded up with sloads by a gaggle of light attacking heros and teabagged I still enjoy the game. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't. The game has a lot of flaws, but it is still the best MMO I have ever played.

I just started playing battlegrounds yesterday since it became free for the rest of the playebase with SS.
Was nicely surprised to see a range of players mashing it out without everyone 1 hit ko-ing me to death xD feels a lot more fun now

I'm having fun so long as I'm not running around looking for endless Psijic time rifts. Holy Mother of God WHY did they think it would be "fun" to have to do so many of those?

I'm assuming you're not playing an Altmer. We Altmer enjoy endless repetitive tasks that involve a great deal of bureaucracy, especially if they have far too may requirements and rules involved with them.

I've been having a bit of guilty fun killing noobs in non-vet battlegrounds with my magsorc. Now he's at cap, have been enjoying the challenge of mashing my way to the final round of VMA.

To the OP, the forums are always like this. If it's not complaining about a set, or a class being overpowered, it's complaining about the cash shop, and "gambling" crates, or, the only real complaint, the lag, which keeps people from being able to play the game. This is definitely one of the worst gaming communities I've ever had the misfortune of interacting with. Definitely not everyone, but more than I've seen in any other game I've cared enough about to jump on the forums.

One of my first experiences with people in this game was fungal grotto. I had apparantly gotten an item someone was farming for. I dont mod ally look at chat, as it is rarely worth it. He had whispered me, then began to just go off on me for 12 other whispers after that because I didn't give him the item he wanted. I was level fifteen, btw, so it wasn't as if it was gear that person would have used long. Don't put too much stock in what people in this game think or say, it will help you in the long run.

I've been playing since late beta, and I still enjoy the game...overall. That's not to say that there aren't things I could do without, or things that would improve *my* experience of the game.

Every day, I have a little fun experimenting with a build variation, I enjoy playing with new cosmetic choices from time to time, I generally love playing out the pve questlines.

I *don't* generally enjoy pvp, but every now and then I'll pop in for one reason or another and I have varying amounts of fun.

however, I do understand the general prevalence of negativity on the forums - like many, I don't generally feel compelled to run to the forums and announce when I'm having a *good* time - usually, when I'm having a good time, I want to keep on having a good time, and so I continue playing

I run to the forums when I'm bored or distracted, and usually, those are times to muse about things I want and don't have, or things I have and don't want (FING LIMITED TIME ONLY SALES!!!)

don't get me wrong - I applaud your desire to add some positivity to the forums - I just find it kinda counter-intuitive for myself to post positivity on the forums when I'd rather be enjoying the positive experiences instead of writing about them

yes, I still love ESO, and I still think it's the closest any MMO has ever come to delivering the MMO experience *I*'ve been looking for

but there are valid reasons for *some* of the negativity as well, so some of those posts, at least, have a legitimate spot on the forums as well, I feel

I think you just nailed why I never have chat on and only very, very rarely group with anyone and just stay in the background. Fungal Grotto and the Undaunted, 2 months after PS4 release. Apparently somebody wanted something and went off when I got it. I'm older and wiser now. Now I just take everything and, since I have chat off, I don't even know if somebody is upset... okay, maybe that guy who was texting weird stuff after I took the stuff at that Dolmen last night, but, hey, I did get a really sweet staff and some great gloves... hmmm.

I bought myself a GTX1080 and a 28" 4k monitor last week so I can fully enjoy the rich environment that is Tamriel. Everything is new again, people's faces, trees, animals, mobs,etc.

While i enjoy the game, i don't enjoy the way the company runs it and how it markets it at me 24/7.. The servers are some of the worst i've ever played on in my life..

I did the first couple of maps. Not too bad, but after that I fell off. I still have the questline active and just happened to run into one the other night on accident while doing another quest. I'll revisit it... eventually.

It does seem like a wasted opportunity. We have mages now that can control time! And here I am, running all over the world looking for shiny portals that I can close with my mind.

Sounds like my character has finally lost it....

Just came back to eso after a reasonably short break and I'm having a good time again. I've been taking more time to just appreciate the environments and questing again, rather than sprinting/porting to each and every destination as fast as I can. Also did some fishing tonight and got some nice screenshots

OP - I agree about the negativity on the forums lately. It seems like people tend to forget that, in the end, it's a game and it's meant to be fun. If I find myself not particularly enjoying myself in one area, I can easily move on to another and I often find things clear up rather nicely.

Last night, I went on a Journal clearing mission. For the longest time I had 23-25 missions, some of which had been there and long forgotten. So, I just started focusing on clearing that out. There were a couple of missions I completed where I had to question :"how did I get involved in this again?" - but for the most part, I found myself getting right back into the stories.

All you have to do is pick a horizon and start moving. Chances are, something interesting is going to pop up along the way. For a gypsy spirit, like me, that suits me just fine.

Always having fun when healing... watching allies health go up and down is quite a exhilarating.

Recently been trying to level my Sorc tank? Having this debate should I turn him into overlord support guy too? Tank with 3 bars...am I destined to die?

That just sounds like a lot of bugs and unpolished points in the game lol which is most of the reason for the hate.
