1.) Nord, StamDK because I came from Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim where light attack spam was the meta, and this race/class combo seemed to fit those lines. Abandoned this after a few weeks once I met a seasoned player who helped me out and told me to roll an Altmer MagSorc who is still my main today.

2.) Since early April 2016. My wife bought me an XB1 for our anniversary and ESO was the first game I purchased for myself. Of course she bought our son PvZ:GW2 the same day, so he had a head start on my playing time.....

3/4.) XB-NA. Don't own a PC capable of running graphic-based games (only text-based MUDs). Also, I only speak English, so didn't think the international server would be for me.

5.) Enjoyed playing all the single-player Elder Scrolls games, and felt this was the next logical step. For what it's worth, I discussed it with my brother who is a certified Xbox Pro competitor whether I should go for Destiny (due my long-time love of Bungie products) or ESO. Knowing I am more of a casual player who doesn't really run endgame content, he directed me to ESO. So, here I am.

1- Redguard Nightblade: I wanted a character that could use roll dodge as main defense... Not knowing it would become one of the most hated specs of the game. Even less that it could become that joke of an overpowered class that it is now.

2- Since console launch, rather regularly.

    3- PS4.

    4- EU.

5- An MMO on consoles, action-oriented (I wasn't expecting it to be the proc fest it is now), no cooldown battle system with resource management, all in my favourite fantasy world ever?
I could not lose this occasion.

    5) I played WoW from Vanilla through Burning Crusade. It was the first MMO I played seriously and I loved it. I loved the graphics, the story, the community, the min-maxing, the battlegrounds and especially the raiding. It ate up so much of my time I had to leave it. I looked back on WoW very fondly and there was never anything like it on console. A couple friends I played WoW with would suggest MMOs they were playing and I tried them out, Path of Exile, Maplestory, Neverwinter, some others I can't even remember. None of them ever stacked up against WoW until ESO. I got some RL friends to join in and now we're crushing dungeons and trials and getting wtfpwned in Cyro between bluescreens.

Female Dunmer Sorcerer named Llaalala Llaadida... and as to why, I cannae recall. I did like her enough to remake her for an early free weekend, though, and she's still a storage alt.

    2) How long have you been playing ESO (it doesn't have to be consistent, just - were you one of the PC beta's or were you a console joiner?)

I was in the PC beta, though I only purchased the game a bit over six months ago.

    5) Why did you take up ESO?

Morrowind is probably my favourite vidya game ever, and I didn't hate Oblivion, so late last year I decided to finally play TES5, only to find it was too late to find an affordable copy of Skyrim LE. *sad face*

I had my heart set on playing something Elder Scrolls, though, and since I'd enjoyed the ESO beta, I picked up ESO instead. I just solo quest and pick flowers; I'm not a PVP person, and my main is a DPS Warden so I can't run group content.

    1) What was your first character ever in ESO (race, class, etc.) and why
    Imperial Nightblade.

I've always preferred to play as a male human ranger in every fantasy-based game I'd ever played (MMO or otherwise). When this game's initial classes didn't include Ranger - or anything like it, for that matter - I decided to play a male Imperial Nightblade (the class' general physical build and stealthiness partly fit with a Ranger, even if the duties were somewhat different).

With the arrival of the Warden class in Morrowind (perhaps the closest thing this game has to a Ranger), I finally created my second character, a male Imperial Warden. But oddly, I've barely played him as I've since instead decided to play through all the story content with my Nightblade (since I've invested so much time into him already... yes, I'm a solo PvEer that mainly concentrates on the story and quests and such ;)), though he still has yet to reach Morrowind (I'm trying to play the game in story order; as of this posting, my Imperial Nightblade is still in Wrothgar).

    2) How long have you been playing ESO (it doesn't have to be consistent, just - were you one of the PC beta's or were you a console joiner?)
Since about a week or so after the game launched in April 2014.

I'd taken a small break or two in the early years but have been playing pretty consistently the last few years. Even still, I've never had the chance to fully devote 24/7 to this game (or to any game for that matter), which may explain why my character isn't nearly as far along as he probably should be considering how long I've been playing.

    3) What is your preferred platform
Though I also have a PS4, I've only ever played this game on a PC.

    4) What server do you normally play on
NA (since I'm in the U.S.)

    5) Why did you take up ESO?
I'd previously played every Elder Scrolls game since The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and have enjoyed them. Also, I'd been mostly-casually playing other MMO's such as WoW and GW2 but was still looking for another one.

Upon seeing an ad for this game upon entering a Walmart that April weekday in 2014, it took me about a day or two to decide whether or not I wanted to take on yet another MMO. After deciding in the affirmative, I headed to my nearest GameStop and purchased the Imperial Edition. :)

Even though I still play some other MMO's (including the two aforementioned ones) now and then, TESO has long since become my main go-to MMO. B)

    1. I started with a Breton Vampire magicka sorc, and he's probably the only character ive made from the beginning who's still with me to this day. I stopped playing him for about a year for some reason, but now hes my main and ive maxed out every skill line to 50 (save alchemy, jewelry, and the cooking one), and gotten every skill of his to rank 4 on the morphed version (except for 2 of the psijic order skills of course). The why? Well Breton is my favorite race, and since hes a vampire i (role)play him throughout each game (not necessarily as the nerevarine or the dragonborn mind you).
    2. Ive been playing since beta, tho in the time when the game was subscription based i did not play. When it became buy to play, i bought the Imperial edition so i could play as all 10 races, and i have the beta monkey.
    3. I might have started my Elder Scrolls journey with skyrim on Xbox 360, but now ive got all of them on pc from the Elder Scrolls Anthology edition, so I of course play on PC.
    4. North America server, bc thats where i live. I didnt know i could access the European server until a year ago tho.
    5. And finally, since I started with Skyrim, i have since played and beaten both Oblivion and Morrowind (and their dlcs), and played both arena and daggerfall. If i could find a way to play redguard, shadowkey, those games, i would, but the next logical step for me was ES:O of course. So now I'm here. And I can't wait for ES6.

    5) Why did you take up ESO?

    1) Redguard DK, Ebonheart Pact. Because I enjoy making non-caucasian characters and when doing the initial fiddle around in the character creator, a female redguard drew me in. Dk because when trying out new game systems I like to do a simple fighter type while I learn the ropes. EP because my guild of friends had decided to start in the Pact and I wanted to play with them.

    2) Started in PC beta, pre-ordered, played at launch and have been subbed ever since.

    3) PC. I'm too old and too right handed to find console controls anything but awkward; I grew up with really basic joysticks where all my left hand had to do was stabilize the base and thumb-press one button (see: 'too old'). Also I need my ergonomic office chair to sit in for long game sessions (see: 'too old'). And QoL mods are necessary to ease UI woes.

    4) PC NA. I live within an hour and a half's drive of Zenimax (would be closer to one hour but Baltimore area traffic is horrid). It would be silly for me to do any other server. Plus my friends are all on PC NA as well, which makes sense as they are the ones I've played WoW and GW2 with for so many years.

    5) I have a friend who has been a writer for MMOs for a long time. I've made a point of subbing to any game he worked on to show my support. He got a job with ZeniMax so I picked up the game despite not having gotten into the ES games on the whole. Tried them a little, at least Oblivion and Skyrim, but Oblivion wouldn't let me reverse the mouse combat controls to something more intuitive for me and Skyrim got a game breaking bug before I killed my first dragon and I gave up. So long as ZeniMax remains kind to its employees (no mass layoffs, no 3-month delayed paychecks, no forced permanent crunch times, there have been horror stories out of some companies) and my friend retains his job, I will continue to sub to ESO and even occasionally play it. Unless my personal finances implode, anyway.

She was my only character in open beta and one of three characters I created on day-one release. Currently, she is my most-played PvP character and is still 5 heavy, 2 light, but uses one-handed and shield along with restoration staff.

    2) I began ESO during the PC open beta.

    3) PC

    4) NA

    5) I took interest in ESO because several employees from Mythic, the company behind Dark Age of Camelot, had a hand in developing the PvP for ESO (you can clearly see the inspiration). If not for that, I probably wouldn't have picked up ESO, certainly not as early as I did, even though I love the Elder Scrolls games.

You can play Redguard. Go to Good Old Games or GOG.com. You also forgot Battlespire the first TES game that had multiplayer but I don't think that would work now. 1) Back in beta days, an Altmer Templar that used a greatsword and dual swords with heavy armor. But my first post-launch character is my main, Isachar, an Altmer Templar who uses a lightning staff and dual swords with heavy armor.
    2) Again, I played the final beta before launch but I didn't buy the game at launch as I couldn't afford the subscription and I wasn't overly impressed with the game back then. But the day they announced Tamriel Unlimited, I immediately went to my local Walmart and bought a copy of the game as I had heard it had improved, plus the subscription becoming optional was the biggest reason why I bought it. I've been playing actively since Tamriel Unlimited's launch, which is to say I've been playing the game consistently for three years now.
    3) PC. It's my ONLY platform, considering my newest console is my old Gamecube haha
    4) The NA server
    5) This'll be a little bit of a rambling mess, but here goes:

I've been an Elder Scrolls fan since Morrowind and I became a megafan of the series after Oblivion, which was the first single-player game I truly fell in love with (the only other game that I'd fallen for at that point was RuneScape, my first MMO). Skyrim came out and it only further cemented my passion for the series. It wasn't long after Skyrim's release that I began hearing that a TES MMO was in development. Being such a big fan of both TES and the online sandbox gameplay RuneScape offers, I was immediately hyped. This hype continued to grow until I heard they were going to be going with a pay-to-play business model. I already paid $7/month for one MMO (again, RuneScape) and could barely afford that, I wasn't about to start paying $60+$15/month for a game even if I were able to afford it. It was a huge disappointment to hear that, as I REALLY wanted to play the game but was basically told that I wouldn't be able to since I couldn't afford $15/month. I just accepted that fact and moved on, distracting myself with my (at the time) newest obsession, Guild Wars 2.

Then I received a pleasant surprise: I was given a beta key. I immediately downloaded the game and gave it a go. My first impressions were that the game had a lot of promise but that it wasn't worth $15/month, even if I could afford it. However, I took full advantage of the beta and played it nonstop for as long as I could. I DID enjoy the time I spent in the game and still felt sad that I wouldn't be able to play it. After the beta was over, I spent that first year again, trying to distract myself with Guild Wars 2, which I noticed had a LOT of similarities to ESO but minus the subscription. Over time, I had noticed comments from players saying the game was exponentially better than it was at launch which was an encouraging sign, but I still couldn't play due to the subscription fee.

Then ZOS announces Tamriel Unlimited and I literally rushed to my local Walmart and immediately bought the game, full $60, because I knew the game had so much promise around launch and players had been saying how much better it was at that point. I eagerly awaited the launch of TU, ready to install the game and play. I log in, create my character, get past the tutorial and immediately begin realizing how much better the game was compared to my experience at beta: it had actually begun to FEEL like an Elder Scrolls game. I played pretty consistently for the first half of that year but due to various things (including the launch of Assassin's Creed: Unity and Fallout 4) in 2015, I didn't play too much in the second half of the year. 2016 started off the same way: just playing here and there whenever I felt like it. But then ZOS announced One Tamriel at E3. I was skeptical, but liked the idea of the game opening up fully to become more like a traditional TES experience. When One Tamriel went live, again, I was immediately hooked. However, unlike Tamriel Unlimited, One Tamriel TRULY hooked me and I've been playing pretty actively ever since (with random bits of inactivity due to life or other games).

The game's improvement, ZOS' developers and community management, the player community, the overall design of the game and its DLCs/Chapters, it all just comes together to create what I consider to be the pinnacle of online RPGs, the best MMORPG on the current market. I expect it to continue to be in that position for many years to come. I haven't enjoyed an online game THIS much since my days of being obsessed with RuneScape, and honestly, I'm extraordinarily PROUD to be not only a TES fan, but a fan of ESO. :) I still can't currently afford the $15/month fee for ESO Plus but this is literally the first game that has made me WANT to buy the subscription. Whenever I can afford it, I'm definitely going for it.

    1) What was your first character ever in ESO (race, class, etc.) and why? High Elf Warden Mage, because I like pets.
    2) How long have you been playing ESO (it doesn't have to be consistent, just - were you one of the PC beta's or were you a console joiner?) 2 months
    3) What is your preferred platform. PC
    4) What server do you normally play on. NA
    5) Why did you take up ESO? Because the development cycle in Guild Wars 2 is about three months and I've already played most of the game's content. So I went looking for another MMO. I saw Illevia's Twitch Broadcast playing ESO and liked what I saw. My first week I wasn't very impressed with the game, but it has grown on me.
