ZOS, you really need to make a better effort of keeping your players informed and in the loop. There is no excuse for why it has taken weeks to get an official response about the login issues plaguing Steam players.

That's bad enough by itself.

Now it looks like you're doubling down on that by offering a meager single crate for all of that trouble. There are many players who lost out on more than one crate and several days worth of login rewards because of this issue. Your offer of a single crate might be ok with some, but the ones who missed out on more probably see your gesture as an insult rather than as an apology.

It's actions like these that make it seem like you're completely out of touch with your playerbase sometimes. Please work on having better communication with your players.

Do we know it's even on Zos, or is it an issue with Steam itself?
And if it is on Steams side, at least Zos is reaching out in some way.
I don't like pointing fingers without facts.

But that said, I do agree communication can be alittle better...

have you had any communication from steam?

It doesn't matter what/who is causing the issue. It's not Valve's job to communicate with ESO players. It's ZOS's job.

If I took weeks to do my job, I'd be fired.

Because it's ZOS's game. It's their job to maintain communication with their players about problems affecting their game, regardless of what's causing the problem.

You guys wouldn't be asking this question if it was Microsoft or Sony. Anytime ZOS has issues with Xbox or PS4, ZOS still is responsible for communication.

Valve/Steam is no different - ZOS still has a responsibility to communicate with us about problems that affect their game. Valve could still, and should, make a separate communication, but that doesn't absolve ZOS from their responsibility.

It's not just this issue that ZOS has handled poorly either. There have been numerous instances over just the past year where ZOS has dropped the ball on communication with its playerbase.

They need to invest in a better community management solution that can stay in touch with their playerbase, identify problems, and communicate between developers and the players in a much more robust and reliable way.

Dude I couldnt agree more, outside of the Steam issue ive been irked for years over how terrible their communication skills are. If you did the digging you could find numerous issues that existed for years that are long ignored, one example being vampire hiding body paints/tattoos. If you curse or flame someone theyll step right in and tell you to keep it civil yet have nothing to add about the issue at hand.

So much truth. I don’t know if it’s red tape, or that they are truly overwhelmed but good, consistent, and timely communication is one of the things they could really improve on.

Why are you keep telling your mantra that it's steam issue? There is no official responce about this from ZOS, except "we investigating problem", but some players already got clear answer from steam support that there is no issues on their side. You could find it in comments on this forum, but you obviously keep hiding your head in the sand every time you're told facts that contradict your point of view. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In these type of 'poor me' threads I always love to respond with the ZOS statement which was along the lines of, 'Nobody is forced to be here' made by a certain dev a year or two ago.

When I started playing this game in late 2014 or whatever, this Steam login problem was never an issue. But at some point, idk when exactly, it started and it's been chronic.

My reply will likely get removed like similar replies I've made recently that has been very critical of ZOS, but this is wholly unacceptable. It's bad enough that Steam should be required to make a notice on the ESO store page warning players that this game in not fully supported through Steam and may not work properly for some users, like they do for games that require specific OS or have limited support for certain features.

ZOS is so utterly loathsome to the core. But they are right. That's why I cancelled my sub this month and have been slowly winding up my in-game to-do list, and then I'm gone. ZOS can go get effed.

If you read my OP and all you got was 'poor me', then I've got bad news: You're illiterate.

I never once use the word "me" or "I" in that OP. That's because it wasn't about me.

...okay? And your point is? The forums are here for, among other things, community feedback. This is community feedback.

Of course OP isn't required to be here. But this is a game they clearly care about enough to give critical feedback. On the forums. Which are here for exactly that sort of thing.

I agree that I roll my eyes whenever I see a "I'M LEAVING!!!" thread, but that's not what this is. Critical feedback is not the same thing as "I hate this game and I quit."

You're right. I've got over 12,000 hours and something like $3000 invested in the game. It would take a lot to make me leave.

This isn't an "I hate ZOS" thread. I simply see ZOS mismanaging their PR, and its hurting their players, their game and their image. I care about this game too much to sit quietly and watch.
