Its unrelated, but anyone else from non steam users got infinite loading screens after trying to login (happened 3 times in a row in half an hour)

I tryed to login on Sunday, than i saw this "We are aware that some Steam players are having issues..." . I'm trying to login now, and again i see this. Dear Zenimax, is your game working sometimes for those who bought it through the Steam?

Every two days ZOS investigates the steam login problems. Did this ongoing investigation ever lead to results or the problem goes away on its own and they stop investigating?

Had one load take 3.5 minutes. After that, back to normal.

PC/EU, no Steam.

Oh, game crashed once on selecting a character but no ill effects thereafter.

TCP viewer shows: the eso64.exe is trying to connect to ip 159.100.230.9.
Tracert 159.100.230.9 says, than that host is unavailable

I am fuming. I was getting the log in error before this new patch they just did last night, but if I tried a few times I would eventually be able to log in.
Now though I can't even log in and am constantly getting the error message no matter how many times I try. They have just broken the game even more!!

What makes people think this is a ZOS problem and not a Steam problem?

You might be able to get on other games on Steam, but they will likely be single player, for the most part anyhoo?

So, TLDR why is it a ZOS and not a Steam issue?

I think the amount of times this has happened lately is getting rather silly.

There's the problem. Every other multiplayer game on Steam runs just fine when this happens with ESO. A bit weird if a Steam issue only affect one game or not?

Someone who is interested in the game and see this will probably never touch it. So it's a loss for both of them.

Well I have never had any problems with other Steam games. I personally don't have other online games but I have a friend who has (and was supposed to be doing dung with me Sunday evening when we had the same can't login problem) and their other online games worked just fine. So ZOS is probably at fault here.
What makes me even more certain is that the problem came back after patch so just after they fiddled with their servers.

Lovely. Another day when I can't log in. Fourth time in 30 days and counting...

Because no action is required on the part of Steam to make the problem (temporarily) go away...

Of course it isn't an issue with Steam. It's just happened again when ZOS messed around with the server maintenance.

ZOS are wholly responsible for this mess, it's their game. If there are issues with integration between the Steam platform and their game, ultimately it rests with ZOS.

There are no issues with other games on Steam.

ZOS need to get a handle on this, the technical problems are becoming so bad that the game is becoming practically unplayable for large periods of peoples freetime.

In the last 7 days alone there has been a minimum of 24 hours not including patch maintenance where the game has been unavailable to STEAM ESO players.

I don't know whose fault this is, but I want to know. Right now we have players blaming either zos or/and steam. I wish they could just say what is causing this problem and why they fix it only for few weeks/days/hours and can't find a real solution. If I don't deserve any kind of compensation, then maybe at least some more info? Please?

That this recurs so often demonstrates incompetence at so many levels. Clearly, there are major technical issues at play here, but also, we as clients, are not provided any information as to the cause of these frequent login issues. This demonstrates a level of disdain for telling paying customers the truth, or again, complete incompetence because ZOS don't actually know what the problem is.
This game's not good enough to warrant another purchase of a non-steam version, presently I'm cancelling my ESO plus subscription too. I don't see why I should tolerate such poor quality service.

I just switched my server from EU to NA and it has logged me in. So I can only assume that it is the ZOS servers and not Steams fault as if it was a Steam issue I wold;t be able to log in on any server.

I'm ready to give ZOS the benfit of the doubt as we don't know what's going on, but the lack of communication is unacceptable.
